The former presidential spokesman said some Nigerian hospitals lacked the facilities and expertise needed for the ex-president's treatment

Late Former PMB was in the position as the President of Nigeria to upgrade the hospitals in Nigeria to world class standards to save him the cost and stress of travelling abroad for medical treatment. I wonder why he did not do so. He failed in in the area of health and security
Telling his wife to convey his message to Nigeria to forgive him for his short comings as a President is medicine after death
The excuses by Mr Femi does not hold waters.

Another direct indictment and insincerity and incompetence of Nigerian political elite.

Whose responsibility is it to build or to provide enabling environment for World class medical facility to be built in Nigeria?
Re: Buhari could have died long ago, If He Used Nigerian Hospitals — Femi Adesina by babztee(m): 2:08pm On Jul 15, 2025
This same London hospital is well equipped with world-class facilities and of course the presence of Nigerian doctors and nurses.

As a result of bad leadership and governance ,both past and present governments have failed to provide at least one hospital that is close to being a world-class.

It’s a shame that they travel abroad for medical attention but return to Nigerian soil for burial ceremonies.

Very anyhow news!

Femi Adeshina talks without any kind of sensitivity. He insults Nigerians anytime he speaks.

Part of the reason People hated Buharis government is him

Maxymilliano:
And with all the expertise, Buhari died in London Clinic under the hands of the UK doctors.
He was not supposed to die because he was in a London hospital being treated by White doctors,if we are to go by Adeshina's reasoning.
It's good he died in the London Clinic because if he had unfortunately died in a Nigerian Hospital, even if it's the likes of Reddington,Evercare,Duchess, the talk would have been that he wouldn't have died if he was taken abroad for treatment and the goverment may even have ordered the IGP to investigate the "remote and immediate causes of his death".

Will buhari be sitting in the plane that will fly him to Nigeria or he will be put in the cargo compartment of the plane along with the luggage of the passengers?
To your eternal shame, his body was not put in a cargo hold. He was put in the main cabin of the Nigerian Eagle 1 he had used like a sitting president.

Purge yourself of the hate in your heart.

It will lead you to no where.

This claim about UK doctors familiar with his history is incredible and baseless

Medical history is written down and accessible to ANY doctor

No one sees the same doctor for life

This is especially true when seeing specialists

Specialsts die, retire or relocate

In the case of Buhari when did this relatiobship start?

Was it when he was military Head of State or in the years when Babangida locked him up?

Are we to believe he has been unwell all his years as a soldier?

When did He FIRST TRAVEL TO UK FOR MEDICALS? WHAT YEAR?

Crucially? HOW DID HE PAY FOR IT on his publicly declared salary ALL THESE YEARS before he became Head of State and WHY DID HE START GOING THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE

After doing this?

CHAT GPT ON BUHARI

In 1984, during General Muhammadu Buhari’s military regime, Nigerian doctors—represented by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD)—went on a nationwide strike. Their demands included better facilities, fair call duty allowances, restoration of overseas training programs, and timely salaries

.

The strike arose after the government announced new policies compelling doctors to:

Pay for medical services in their own workplaces

Abandon overseas clinical attachments

Continue working in deteriorating facilities

Despite some policy reversal, doctors remained firm. The military government interpreted this as part of a conspiracy to undermine the regime

🚨 Government Response: Eviction by Force
According to former activists:

This indicates how harsh the crackdown was.

Buhari’s regime escalated swiftly:

NARD and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) were proscribed (banned) by February 1985
Human Rights Watch

Strike leaders were pursued, some fleeing abroad (e.g., NARD president Dr. Adewole escaped to the UK)

.

Soldiers were reportedly deployed to evict striking doctors—and their families—from government-provided housing, issuing them 48 hours to vacate their residential quarters. This was in line with the regime’s uncompromising stance on civil disobedience.

✍️ Context & Human Rights Violations
This incident was part of a broader trend of rights abuses under Buhari’s 1983–85 rule:

Strikes were banned

Individuals could be detained without trial under the State Security (Detention of Persons) Decree No. 2

Security forces routinely suppressed dissent and arbitrarily arrested activists, students, doctors, journalists, and unionists

📝 Summary
What happened: Doctors on strike for improved pay and conditions faced eviction and military intimidation.

Who: Led by NARD/NMA, involving senior doctors, house officers, and their families.

When: Strike began in late 1984; doctors were evicted and associations banned by February 1985.

Government action: Deployment of soldiers, evictions from residences, bans on associations, arrests, and forced exiles.

In summary, Buhari’s regime responded to the 1984 doctors’ strike with a hardline, militarized approach, enforcing evictions within 48 hours from residential quarters and dismantling doctors' representative bodies. It remains a stark example of the military government's intolerance for labor action and civil dissent.

Am I the only one that thinks that this Femi's comment is treasonable?
For a supposed leader or public personality to make such unconscionable statement is, to say the very least, very reprehensible!
Each passing day in this country brings up clear evidence of stark leadership failure.

Your statement is a testimony for the administration of Buhari. He couldn't build just one hospital in the country that can meet all health needs.

Who is responsible for building and equipping new and existing hospitals?

As I’ve said earlier, all our leaders have failed us including the current government and even those being positioned to take over. From Obi, who didn’t build a single hospital or school in eight years, to Atiku, Amaechi, El-Rufai, David Mark, and even “Mr. Half Salary” they’ve all disappointed us.

This country feels doomed.

I don’t want anyone telling me otherwise, because the cheapest thing in the world is talk.
You didn't even mention the Commander in Chief of Failure himself in your context, but you mentioned Obi straight up, ahn ahn. At this point, Mr T is the grand master of failure. Obi's failure isn't in the last 3 years, but Mr. Failure's failure is staring us in the face right now.

grin grin grin the kind of comments that comes out of the mouth of these men.
I begin to wonder if they have brain.

Buhari would have been long death if he had used Nigeria hospital- FEMI ADESINA, 2025.

And for 8 years Buhari couldn't built a replica of where is going to take treatment in London.

Oya supporters over to you.

When you have this type of Advisers, that means you're doom "Adesina said some Nigerian hospitals lacked the facilities and expertise needed for the ex-president’s treatment" with the Billions been budgeted yearly on facilities and overhead cost. Sycophants in sheep clothings
