That 3.9b in 2015 would have bought between 5 to 10 MRI machines back then.
Same for 2016 and 2017.

132m pounds was about 3.9b naira in 2015. So we should be asking if that money spent gave us the quality of hospital you were involved in that you mentioned.

There's some level of decorum that's expected of a presidential spokesperson, there's some level of cool headed expected to address issues and put forward the reaction of the president to critical issues ; he lacks all of that and more.

I heard from a friend who works in a hospital that a Rich Texas oil guy who had a brain bleed flew his own preferred Doctor from Duke University and paid him about $1m for the procedure and care. This was over 10yrs ago.

In a country where primary school teachers earn less than N40k and are still owed salaries, it’s absurd that these presidents would consider it reasonable to allocate such a large budget to a facility that, according to Buhari’s wife, didn’t even have paracetamol as far back as 2016. Why waste scarce resources on a hospital no one is going to use? Wouldn’t that money be better spent in areas that actually need it? After all, based on your own post, the hospital isn’t even properly equipped to stop them from flying abroad for treatment. Las las….na oguuun go deal with them.

I agree with you. My main issue with the money being allocated is that someone, somewhere, is embezzling the funds intended for that clinic. They might as well shut it down for good, since they’re always traveling abroad for medical treatment anyway.
