Apart from the investigations by the police, the family of the deceased should institute a fundamental rights enforcement proceedings against guy and the military claiming damages of at least 1 billion naira. Nobody has the right to treat another person in such undignified manner.
It's a jungle out here, the law is epileptic, unjust and weak... This case will blow over in a few days, everybody will continue to mind their business as usual.

The POP man fell a victim of corruption; they didn’t intend to kill him but to recover their money, . blame the Nigeria judiciary system. He indirectly killed himself by his indiscipline. The man could have as well lost his 1.5m; no one knows what could ensue.

The judiciary system is a mess. Yet, everything ends on the president table.

That's how one welder refused to deliver my window protectors for nearly six months after paying him in full. He was recommended o. I just left him GOD. Na only him use him leg take come do the job last last. I don't know what he saw sha. But I am sure he saw something. The way he frantically came to do the job, it was obvious an unseen hand (GOD) had intervened. grin

The yahaya was a fraudster, plain and simple. I don't think he deserved to die but he's definitely not innocent. A similar game is being played by one foolish guy that was supposed to video/photo my wedding in January, he changed our plan a couple of days before the wedding and told me to give him the money I was supposed to use to lodge him, I sent him 20k and he promised to be at the venue before time. Wedding day came and he arrived well after we'd finished the occasion, I even gave him tfare to go back undecided and we agreed he'll refund me. Over 6 months later, no refund. The only reason he's not in jail is because I do not know where he lives, he's a big fool.

He doesn't deserve anything, he was a fraudster. The highest I'll give his family as a judge is the 1.5m he was paid originally, fraudsters should not be encouraged.

Was the matter reported to the Police? ...and the victim went into hiding? Is it when he thought it was safe he returned and it was then the soldier was called to rough him up? The victim should've been charged for embezzlement. It's his smartness that caused his death. As long as the Police remain corrupt.... jungle justice will be the way. As long as the military remain corrupt and I disciplined... involved in civilian matters with no consequences... soldiers will always be recruitsdjd8

I am patiently waiting for that day when Mr A and Mr B will be at loggerhead especially in the North.

Mr A: Calls his soldier brother.

Mr B : calls his own Soldier friend.

Two soldiers don show, but will they fight themselves because of a friend or a brother or they would walk away from the scene??

I still dey wait for that day....
Lol...it has actually happened . Somewhere in Ikorodu. Theft was involved - both the stealer and the stealee call Army, stealer and stealee army face each other . No be small thing!

If he had done the job he was paid to do, this would not have happened.

Some People are too dubious for chrissake. Of course as an artisan he feels the other man is a big man and 1.5 million means nothin to him.

This is how most Nigerian workers think. You hire them for a job and pay them, they start playing you forgetting the other person also has emotions and struggles on his own end too.

I can tell you everyone of us has passed through similar trying times in the hands of other people.

It's frustrating and some people even have to give up their own money just because they have nothing else to do.

If this man no sabi anybody, the artisan for chop the money just like that. It's not fair to work under the sun for your money and one thief without gun will just want to steal it.

I'm not supportive the employer as someone is now dead but the frustration he must have passed through after working hard for his money is not something anyone deserves.

The artisan caused his own death and there's just no other way to think this matter.
what happen to getting back in a civil manner isn't there police for issues like this why the military..
We have a murder case at hand guess who is jail a civilian or the military man

Those condemning are all hypocrites.
That's what the average Nigerian does:once they have issues with somebody, especially monetary, they invite an army friend or brother to use force to recover their money or exert revenge.
Now it has gone south in this case, they are now trying to claim holy!

it will end in discussion.

We are not savages. People should learn to approach the court of law instead of taking law into their hands.

We have court for Christ sake and hungry lawyers that will take 10k for a case.
Our court systems are slow and sometimes ineffective, people will rather go the the police to report the case and only when the police can't resolve it they take it to the court.

So much unfaithfulness and greed on the path of many Nigerian hired Laborer's. You hired them to do a job for you, all they are after is not building a good reputation at that first impression, their pursuit will be how to milk you and probably embezzle 70% of the outcome of the deal while managing the remaining paltry 30% for the Job.

What I learned from this story is to always exercise like tomorrow will be a war. One can never tell when these animals in uniform will test your health. They find many ways to do so. I don’t want to be found lacking on the appointed day.

The impunity in Nigeria is mind boggling, you know.

Artisans in Nigeria & chameleon are 5 and 6 🤔

But the guy should have done it the civil way instead.

Exactly!

It’s just unfortunate that this led to his death.
And many of us have done frog jumps in the past, so it’s highly possible he was ill or had other health challenges.

Na pesin wey never experience artisans bullsh*t dey blame who call soldier.

Those guys can take people for granted ehhhh. 😩😭

How can someone who has paid you in full, be calling about his incomplete job, and you go silent on him?

May we not be unfortunate. 🙏🤲

This wickedness goes both ways. As an artisan I work for someone who refuse to pay me a dime out of my money.

He said I should do my worst .

The government needs to implement a law whereby each parties honours there deal.. this is a form of security for both parties

I do not support the artisan neither do I support the person that refuse to pay me my money for work done.

The army is not at fault here
Where are you based?
How much is the money?
Approach the Small Claims Court in your state. You don't need a lawyer. It is fast, affordable and efficient.

what happened to doing the work you were paid for?

If he had done the job all these would have been prevented.

You think he just woke up one day and decided to involve a third party in the matter?

Sometimes Nigerians need Iron hand to settle an issue, but it should have limit, not to the point of knocking someone till death.Right now am currently pleading with somebody that boughts items worth 600k plus during COVID-19 to give me something out of it but he refused.I have tried many ways to get it but i couldnt get anything.

Regardless of what happens we don't need to go to the extent of killing one and other, there are other civil means that can be deploy to retrieve the fund.
