Nigerian politicians will never learn. I’m sure that if the government had invested in our healthcare system, someone like Ekweremadu wouldn’t be in jail today. Since the APC came into power, Nigeria has been the only country in the world whose president is publicly known to receive medical treatment abroad.

Patience wasn’t the president, and if I remember correctly, Yar’Adua wasn’t flying abroad every month for medical treatment like Buhari and Tinubu, so my point still stands.

I doubt that Nigeria is the only country whose presidents do this. I have a feeling many of the Francophone African countries would be going to Europe for treatment regularly

......search Talon, Mugabe, Edgar Lungu, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, Paul Biya, Sultan Hassanal of Brunei and President AbdelAziz of Algeria.

Even King Salman of Saudi Arabia received treatment in the US.

Why do you think every president, governor or rich man travel abroad to take care of themselves?
I believe to hide their medical history. But I believe every public official's medical history should be made public. If you don't want the public knowing about your health history, why bother contesting for a public office? There is only one reason why you'd be scared of your opponents or the public finding out your health history - you're not fit to hold that office.

The level of Consultant Buhari was seeing in London averages about £2m per annum in fees. Aso Rock budget can't even pay half his salary. That's why I said Porters 5 forces demand that people travel for healthcare. All the top Consultants congregate in the same places where they have access to cutting edge technology and research. Even Saudi King will travel to London to see him, talkless of Buhari
2m in fees from one client or 2m in fees from the hospital the doctor consults for?

From various clients and Insurers

15 minute consultation fee is £250 for any Consultant, top Consultants will double that

The Consultants are freelancers, they get paid by the patient or the patients Insurer, not the Hospital

The Hospital collects from the patient or the patients Insurer. The Consultant may ask the Hospital to collect from the patient for them or bill the patient directly themselves, but their fee is agreed between the patient and the Consultant

oh, OK. I think Anderson hospital in Port Harcourt operates the same model with consultants from Lebanon and the US.

https://x.com/DavidHundeyin/status/1945218116327186666?t=tKhMqIbl8HLmp1scVKEAIA&s=19

Between 2007 and 2015, Nigeria's economy more than doubled from $278 bn to $568 bn.

And this period coincided with when a Nigerian posting in 2025 (with the economy back at $199 bn) says "there was no alternative" but to remove those who delivered the growth.

And the person saying it is not a sawmill operative in Ifaki, neither is it someone from Buhari's 'tribe.' It's a southeastern tech founder who lives in Oxford.

That's why there's really no point having intellectual arguments with Nigerians or trying to convince them using facts and logic - Nigerians are not fundamentally capable of being intellectual people. What they call 'intelligence' is the ability to memorise past questions from 'Ugo C. Ugo' and score 400/400 on their multiple choice Common Entrance exam.

In the real sense of it, they have the same ability to process information and make logical decisions as a fish has the ability to fly. Flying fish do exist, but they're super rare. That's how rare it is to find a Nigerian whose brain wasn't completely rotted beyond repair by age 9. Doesn't matter whether they are ice cream sellers or bank CEOs, they're socialised from birth into a lifelong commitment to being dumb AF.

I choose to insult and pour scorn on you people instead. That's all you deserve. I'd honestly rather have an 'intellectual' exchange with a rabbit that has Down's syndrome. At least it would shut the Bleep up.

Yar'Adua spent a big chunk of his time abroad receiving medical treatment BEFORE and AFTER he became president.
