Hope it's not ₦100 or ₦50 reduction as he's doing with petrol...if he's coming to reduce price, let it be significant and sustainable for long time

This is the news I've been waiting for. Those greedy marketers have been increasing the price of cooking gas without check. Infact cooking gas is now out of the reach of many people now. Those marketer better cooperate or sell their remaining stock and exit the market if they know they can't sell at reasonable price or buy from Dangote and sell at cheaper price. May Dangote succeed🙏

Dangote better be careful. This is the kind of thing that has Bill Gates in trouble in certain quarters - crashing people's means of livelihood by donating it for free!
Smh. You're complaining ignorant of what Bill Gates did. He didn't crash price but bought put all competitors and expanded to keep others out. Alhaji Dangote didn't buy any of them but competing with them. He is exposed more to risks than them

This is another proof that the politicians/government are not the only problem we have as Nigerians.
Nigerians are the problems of Nigerians. When you hear them cry that commodities are costly, you'll be deceived by their complaints and lamentations, whereas they are the ones dictating the tunes.

Nice one!
Had nnpc gone through a transparent rehabilitation or better still handled by a public private partnership like NLNG,the price of PMS,diesel and LPG would have currently crashed by 60-70%
The marketers will always complain but will adjust at the end....that's what happens when there is competition!

These importers just want to snuff out life from the masses. They want to enjoy the market monopoly with high price but caution to the same attitude as if they are better. They should allow competition to flow, in as much as he is not disturbing them from getting the products.
They are not importers. They are the major players in the gas industry. That work in collaboration with NLNG. NLNG is in Bonny, Rivers State.

The gas isn't imported. It's produced here in Nigeria.

What they are protesting about is that "Dangote should allow them continue selling their gas at 1,300naira, so that only the rich would afford it.

It's like Dangote wants to spoil their evil business, so they are protesting.

It seems Dangote can really save Tinubu's reelection bid. if prices come down and things become cheaper, Nigerians will hail tinubu

Well, BUA and LaFarge haven't been pushed out of the cement market, neither has Ibeto cement.
Check Ibeto vs Dangote case, check BUA vs Dangote and LaFarage is a multi national coy. You just have to live long enough or read about it to draw inferences from the cases cited above.

Dangote has announced plans to reduce the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, also known as cooking gas. However the real enemies of Nigeria who have fed fat on the nation's natural gas resources for years while the consumers suffered are ready to resist such Price slash. What a nation. Unfortunately, you will see gullible people who were born to suffer supporting this resistance
So for your left mind Dangote is for the masses, abi? Have you forgotten what he did to the cement market? Monopoly is a dangerous tool in the hand of the greedy. They will first start by destroying every opposition/competition by driving them out of the market by selling way below market price. They incur losses for a while but they won't feel it because they have huge capital. After that, they will start controlling the market and fixing prices as the deem fit.

Even if it is 20kobo reduction, can't the Marketers also reduce their prices to also kick Dangote out if the Business?

Remember this is Cooking Gas and the last time I checked Dangote is not producing Cooking Gas rather he will be getting it from the same as Supplier as the Marketers which is the LNG.

So, why are they crying? They can only cry if they are not getting it at the same Price, then I will understand the concern otherwise they are just making life difficult for the people.

Bro, do you even understand what full deregulation of the downstream sector is meant to achieve? I.e completely free market competitiveness that benefits the masses?

Like someone said earlier, God bless Dangote. He is "doing the lord's work".

Better, for a nation with many in crippling poverty, to host a benevolent monopolist than a large cartel of price-fixing sharks determined to extort Nigerians to death because of inhuman greed.

If some of you pay attention, you'd have noted that Tinubu has always said he believes in a free market democracy meaning he will support those who help him to deliver that. You are seeing the results now where the people win.

Tinubu is a genius and the likes of Dangote etal will be his enforcers who will vanquish cartel and cabal-driven greed and extortion because the logic is simple. I.e if you can meet demand at a lower price than I can, then the market is yours to dominate.

Such is never "donating it for free". It is healthy competition that tends to force suppliers to give the masses the best as obtains in the most developed nations of the world.

AI Overview

A free market democracy, also sometimes called market democracy, combines a free market economic system with a democratic political system. In this model, the economy is largely driven by supply and demand, with minimal government intervention, while political power rests with the citizens through elections and representation. This means individuals have the freedom to own property, start businesses, and exchange goods and services, and citizens can participate in the political process to shape their society.

BUA, Ibeto, and others are still in the Market.

As for the Cooking Gas thing, Dangote is not producing it but rather getting it from LNG, the same source the Marketers are getting it from.

I can only understand and sympathise with them if they are getting it at a price higher than what Dangote get.

I support Alhaji 100% on this one , let him crash the price. I don't know why it's expensive in Nigeria sef giving the magnitude of our reserves .. The only excuse is that it's price internationally . You have my blessings to crash the price. This people should stop emotional black mail of monopoly.

Which players were pushed out in the cement sector?

Aliko Dangote is doing the Lord's work.

Those marketers that are protesting should pool their resources together and build a refinery so they can give his refinery a run for his money.

God bless Alhaji Dangote.
Should God also bless the deregulation and privatisation capitalists of PDP who licensed the refinery 13 years ago, as part of the petroleum downstream sectoral reforms, which APC progreThieves played politics with, even though they are clueless about managing the economy for prosperity, changing everything to extreme poverty shege?

You are right that the marketers should set up a competing refinery like BUA is doing in Akwa Ibom, which is also what Glo did to crash telecom prices after Obasanjo/Atiku deregulated the sector over two decades ago.

How do we get back to the prosperity years of PDP capitalists huh

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

SO? That hardly constitutes being frustated out. You can buy BUA cement and LaFarge cement here in Nigeria, as well as Ibeto cement well well, and their factories work well.

That contradicts the idea that dangote is squeezing out anyone.

What you are arguing for is a subsidy on cement. That can't work....workers have to be paid, and maintenance and upgrades on production facilites have to be done.

Modified

And now there is Mangal cement self.

Those protesting are selfish. They don't care about the common man. If not for selfishness, why can't they beat down the price a little bit to accommodate affordability?

Selfishness is when you see what will benefit others but hold tight to it.

Let's learn to cultivate the spirit of empathy.

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. It's not just recognizing what someone else is going through, but also emotionally connecting with their experience — feeling with them, not just feeling for them.

Dangote and propaganda. Big headlines, little impact. Una go dey shout crash on top the usual N25 reduction? Senseless bunch.

These senseless bunch will crash petrol price from N918 to N916 and run to the media, all for the noise and propaganda. When will you people ever have sense? If N918 to N916 means crash, so what do we call N200 to N1000??

The government will keep using this man to press una muumuu button like toys. The goal is to deflect and shift your anger away from the government. Can't you people see? Same template with cement, PMS, now this? Our muumuu never do?

Nigerians love lower prices, Dangote should find a way and get distributors, cut off the marketers. It's a free market economy, the lowest prices wins. This is an illegal protest.
