And this is not very hard to accomplish o? Back when I was young and living in Ikorodu, I can attest that the town was a whole lot cleaner and cared for than it is today. Each time I traveled to other parts of Lagos, I would come back beaming with smiles, knowing how much cleaner and saner Ikorodu town, where I live, was back then. There wasn't a lot of government presence, as much of it was handled by community guilds and sometimes LGA partnerships. Although many neighborhoods eventually turned to crap by the end of the 80s, that place was well cared for back in the days compared to the trash heap you find everywhere where even at every doorstep today.

It really isn't hard to get towns and communities cleaned up, even in Nigeria. If the people want the place to be clean, they can do it for themselves.

Canada is about 10,000,000km² with a population of about 40.1m, whereas Nigeria is about 924,000km² with a population of approximately 236m.
Population density for Canada 4.2/km² but Nigerian population density will be about 249.8/km²
When already we are overpopulated, why won't everywhere be dirty? We jave very stubborn rulers, very very stubborn citizens that are not ready to abide by law, and very few overused infrastructures.
These developed countries control their population but in Nigeria, na to dey born pikin as if there will be a special award for you helping to increase the population.

How much cleanliness has he seen in that few pictures. Overgrown garden and an ok ther place that seems like a Forest, then the Love Machine brewing center frontage.....no enough pictures to justify that guys conclusion..... however, your reply did him right I believe......some areas in Calabar looks perfectly cleaner and beautiful, you will think you aren't in Africa likewise Enugu, Abuja, Lagos etc....the main point is cleaninlines even when nothing is working well with the country, just cultivate the habit of cleanliness, keeping your environment clean always....

People make towns to be clean.

There are people working with local councils that move about picking nylon n trash.

There is also sweeper machine or truck.

The town was historically known as d**do before its modernize version to mean a love machine...

It does not, we are a littering and very dirty people and that is the reason for dirts everywhere.

I will take a picture of the landfill where we throw all garbage away here in Canada. It is so clean with no single smell.
It is not too late change for Nigeria and it begins with me and my family. I will never litter, will not allow my wife or kids to litter and, will call out anyone who litter around me.
I have my tickets for Nigeria next month and it is time to directly contribute to Nigeria

Not as clean relatively to similar countries with lesser population. UK and France are both cleaner than Nigeria and dirty when compared with Canada for example.
Rwanda in Africa has a very low population and that will tie directly with waste production.

All said, we have no reason to live in dirty environments as Nigerians.

I love the maritimes but it gets really cold in Newfoundland. If I have to return to Canada, I will be staying in Halifax.

Open waste dumping is Nigerians culture. Come outside and see sachet Chelsea all over the place. People even purposely dump waste. The country is just too dirty, from the president to the government down to the common man, because of I don't care attitude.

Like those white guys and Arabs and Chinese are not using resources to make sure that their environments are super clean, like not throwing garbage around is all it takes

The garbage will not be there in the first place if not for littering by us Nigerians. We have to start whith what we can control before moving on to the government.

We still get where clean like this for naija & the state still get kinda ghetto like we have over here

It is a misconception my friend because we the people are the country. There is no country without the people and I used to hate Nigeria with a passion some 16 years ago. After living in and traveling the world, I have come to love and appreciate Nigeria more than anything else.

Including myself and I have determined to change and call out anyone around me who throws trash on the road, I will take their pictures and upload on social media. We all have to be personally accountable if we want to see any change in Nigeria. It begins with me, you and everyone reading this.
