Your people were jubilating and saying sheet about Lagos state after Obi won, and you feel the state indigenes won't feel threaten?
Threaten over what?? Must Tinubu win all the time even when he's not a good leader?

This is a welcome development..

What started the nonsense initially?
Re: Lagos Is Renaming Street With Igbo Names To Yoruba by deekseen(m): 7:25am On Jul 17, 2025
I personally don't see anything wrong with renaming streets, places, or structures. The motive should be the concern.

No! It's good.
People like me see it as a welcome development because I want my people to understand one thing about Nigeria and the people that created it.

I don't know which one you are deliberately doing: telling a big, fat lie, or showing ignorance.
Those Streets had their original Yoruba names before Igbo people started paying to have Streets names in Lagos changed.. there is absolutely nothing bad about correcting mistakes (costly one at that) of the past.

This is great news .

This isn't even recent. It happened last year
Whether it happened last year, or this year, does it not show you a clear sign on mental insecurity among those who brought the idea? Does it not show you clear racism and tribalism in a country where the same people of the SW want to say “we are one”?

Stop talking this rubbish please. Streets are first of all founded when people purchase lands in areas and the roads are marked in the survey. Someone moves to get a street name after him and it is registered. If you know nothing, be silent and learn.

Lagos was former capital not Lagos state. Lagos state is no more the capital of Nigeria

So tomorrow when the capital of the country shift from Abuja to another state, the indigenous people of F.C.T will start changing all their street names?
Is it not better every major region becomes independent so that they can do whatever they like?
How can people be using others natural wealth to be flexing muscles?

Whatever dude..
Anambra State changed Street name from Abakaliki Street to something entirely different yet your likes were cool with it.
Hold your peace and allow Lagos LGAs change Streets names to whatever they want.

It's their choice. You can tell your lawmakers to move the motion that will make the regions become independent.

Lagos state is not Igbo land

About the sbeety things your people were saying about Lagos state and the Yoruba people after obi fraudulently won in Lagos state.

Well, the names were changed last year and heaven didn't fall.

With this topic, is that possible? This headline is tribalistic.

DenreleDave:
Please no tribalistic comment here.

Insulting ourselves will not solve this.

I don't know what led to this but this is going to far...... Street named igbos are not threat to yorubas and Nigerians at large. .. The problem of the common citizen is not street name.....

As a Yoruba man, I condemn this action by Lagos state..... Let's face the economic hardship and insecurity that is threatening the lives of the people..

Igbos are not threat to the nation, igbo street are not threat to Lagos. ...
We Igbos have far more important to think about than what street is renamed to what in Lagos

Na name of street we go chop?

It is perfect n I love it. No one cares how you or others like you feel about it.

Wether it happened last year or century the big question here is, is it good?
If Igbos should start doing the same thing to yorubas will you (mynd44) see it as a welcome development?
Keep your tribalism one side and face the fact.
Re: Lagos Is Renaming Street With Igbo Names To Yoruba by Front0lane: 9:06am On Jul 17, 2025
The fact is any state can name any street whatever it likes.

I love it too because "inhumane" treatments like this will make my people to think home and minimise the way they help in building any city they found themselves in. So it's a welcome development to me. The reason why I said what I said is because I know how yorubas would react if it was Igbos that did it first.

The Igbos in Lagos are jubilating about it. It is a good one by the Sanwo-Olu government. The Lagos government have done very well.
Re: Lagos Is Renaming Street With Igbo Names To Yoruba by Dalohad: 11:40am On Jul 17, 2025
If there is a street named after Obiano in Lagos, it should be changed to Abakiliki street, Dave Umahi street or Joe Yorubakwe street.

He started it.
