Inflation Has Droped For The Third Consecutive Month In 2025 by DrMB(op): 9:06am On Jul 17, 2025
After peaking at over 34% in mid-2024, Nigeria’s headline inflation has now slowed to 22.22% in June 2025, marking a consistent three-month decline. So here’s the question: If inflation is falling, why are Nigerians still feeling the squeeze?
The numbers suggest progress, but the markets still scream hardship. Is this the beginning of stability or just a pause?

Wow. We can all see that inflation has dropped from over 34% last year to 22.22% now, it’s clear Tinubu’s efforts are starting to show real results, even if things still feel tight. Progress takes time and as they say, every sunrise brings a new chance for change.

We are getting there... wink wink

Slow and steady
But when the economy was wrecked, it wasn't slow and steady.

When Tinubu bought yatch, it was instantly.
When he renovated VPs residence, instant.
When he bought jet, instant.
When they renovated ICC, instant.

When it comes to the welfare of niherians, una dey say "slow and steady".

God will judge you.

Nigerians are not feeling the inflationary change as claimed because the source of these reported figures were calculated by oluwole statistcians who are specialists in adding an impure political variable into pure mathematical equations.

Not unexpected. The President and his team have been extremely hardworking and brilliant!

There's now stability and the reforms have now come to stay.

The next major step we are yet to see is how the tax reform will play out.

May God bless Nigeria for ever!

This is good. We hope it gets better.

BTW:

I just to want to use this space to remind Nigerians how the APC will lose the coming 2027 general elections.

As it stands, the whole of the northern people are 100% ADC.

Except for the Southwest, the whole of the southern populace are also ADC-compliant. So, where else does Ebilokan want to garner his votes from if not from the rigging machinery of INEC, the Police, and the judiciary?

Should I supply you with free buckets and handkerchiefs? Don't flood your room with the over flooded of the water.

The same people who have been reporting about inflation rate increasing some years back, same people reporting about the improvement. Anyone still having doubt should just check in to the nearest rehab center. It get why

Absolutely, and the good news is that consistent drops like this are often the first signs that relief is on the way, what starts in the data usually finds its way to the market with a little patience and persistence.

This is great news.

You have the stats with you. I don't expect you to still be asking this kind of question. The price of goods and services are falling at a slow pace.

But it's better prices of goods and services are falling instead of what we had in 2024 when price of goods and services was always rising.

BAT didn't scatter the economy. The economy is doing fine. Cost of goods and services only shoot up because the naira was devalued.

Nigerians are not feeling decrease of inflation...everyday we hear fuel price is decreasing while the bike men are still charging 500naira for wat they used to collect 300naira..bus drivers same...traders same..so how is inflation decreasing.

Price control is the next solution.
All these changes won't materialize without price control policy.
Greed has eaten up the polity that even the traders are worse off than the politicians they all condemn grin

The price of fuel will need to decrease the more before transport fare will reduce from what it is now. Bike riders are still charging what they were charging when the price was 1000/litre.

Every Nigerian knows, see and can confirm the price of fuel is falling since the FG totally stopped paying subsidy, we're not just hearing it.

If you have a car, you won't say the bolded. Car owners are feeling the impact.

Generally, Nigerians have a bad habit of refusing to reduce prices of goods and services to reflect the economic reality per time.

A friend of mine has a bakery in Abuja. We had a conversation last month and I told him that now the price of flour has significantly reduced, it should reflect on the price of his bread. He told me he will rather increase the size of the bread than reduce the price. Well, over a month later, neither size nor price has changed. Unfortunately, this is the mindset of the average entrepreneur, trader, middleman or service provider in Nigeria.
