Zionmdde:More like we have to go to being an industrial nation so that we can have reserve in the trillions of dollars . Master tinubu is still a bad leader though. You won't get an argument from me there. But so also were most of our past leaders, including your beloved gej Again it boils down to our country being a resource dependent country. That's why we can't sustain strong currencies for a long time. Tinubu is not doing anything about changing us to manufactured goods and services economy because he wants to get reelected, not to leave good legacies |

I thought zombies claimed that the cbn is no longer defending the naira. Imagine defending a currency at 1600 yet zombies condemned the same act under Jonathan. |

We warn him when he floated the NGN that no country on earth floats her currency, but rather countries defend their currencies. His handlers said he is an economic guru who developed Lagos and he can replicate the same thing in Nigeria. When he floated the naira and removed subsidy, the economy plummeted and nosedived at all time level. Prices of items were rising every minute. The rate of USD to NGN was nearing 2k. He had to back tracked and started paying subsidy at the same time defending the naira. The subsidy reintroduced and the defence of naira are the reason while things are stabilizing now. |

| Re: CBN Injects $4.1bn To Defend Naira As Reserves Decline by nairalanda1(m): 9:52am On Jul 17, 2025 |
regenerateman:A lot of countries float their currencies. Those that fix it either have the reserves in the trillions of dollars to do so, or they end up in debt doing so. Nigeria falls into the latter group because we do not run an industrial economy which would have helped us get a genuinely fat forex reserve. |

Naira was 600-700 unofficial while buhari was defending it, you came into power and called it fraud by free floating the naira to over 1500. As it 1600 you still want to defend naira with over 4 billions, who does that . You could have monitored the situation and keep on defending naira when it was 400 official but you rejected it......see where you are planning to land the country into total failure. Not good at all |

regenerateman:I agree with you. Government’s decision to remove fuel subsidies and float the naira simultaneously has had severe economic consequences. Millions of Nigerians are facing worsening living conditions, with rising transport costs, health challenges, job losses, and declining purchasing power. Rather than fully arguing with paid political handlers, paid to defend policies or get some of favour from the government, we must focus on productive initiatives that support ourselves, families and local communities, within our capacity. That is better than wasting our time engaging them all the time. A minority continues to peddle misinformation, rumours, tribalism and propaganda in an attempt to distort and divide public perception and shift focus away from the real issues affecting everyday Nigerians. These online individuals, with vested interests, are not reflective of the general population, but sadly, their goal is to justify unsound & unpopular policies online and normalise hardships, rather than offer real solutions. |

Everything they vilified Buhari for, they now do multiple folds of it with nothing to show except more hardship and inflation. Buhari was a better manager of the economy than Tinubu and his overrated Lagos Areaboys. |

The country is just spiralling downward and out of control everyday. Was this not the very same thing this administration was accusing Mr. Emefiele and PMB of doing? Yet those ones were at the same time: • Subsidising fuel • Subsidising Education • Subsidising Health. • Subsidising Agriculture. • Exchange rate was less than N450/$1. • Paid Federal employee's salaries promptly. • Giving money to widows and poor. • Food was affordable. ... I rest! 🙄 |

KeyStakeHolder:Are you consoling me or you? Nobody asked if they are doing well or not. We only know that Naira was N460 when he came into office. Now it's N1,600. That's over 250% decline in value. What else is there to defend? We thought that by the removal of subsidy, we will have enough money and forex will be boosted and we won't have to devalue but that was all a lie. We are not getting there. Contrary to what you said, we are very far. Until this government becomes serious about governing, elimination of waste, fraud and abuse. Until he cuts down the size for government and stop flying up and down the country like someone that's homeless, we will continue this way. |
