You are only repeating my initial response to you. I told you Israel invaded Syria right after Assad left and occupied parts of it. You probably didn't even know, and instead, was claming that Israel attacked Syria for humanitarian reasons and as a preventive measure to stop Iran from transporting weapons to Hezbollah through Syria.

That is stale. Update your propaganda talking points. Go, and sin no more tongue
So in order words, Israel's strikes right now are a mix of immediate humanitarian concern (protecting Druze communities) and broader, long-term strategic calculations (disrupting weapon flows and countering Iranian influence in Syria, all within a carefully calibrated risk of wider conflict)

The above is 23jerryking post!! Can't you comprehend mate??, he said and broader long term strategic calculation
(disruption of weapons and iraninan influence in Syria. Key word here is[/i] Long term!!.

23jerryking is talking about a long term scenario here not the present dynamics currently playing right now, If the Druze militias are decimated in southern Syria, they would be replaced by a Iranian backed militias, The Israeli needs a counter balance to the Syria government, while also making sure iran and her proxies do not breed on syrian soil

Try they read and comprehend, you are not Vic2023.

Lol.... So finally they admit Iranian drones are superior to theirs. That's why they copy them.
The drones are not really advanced. Their quality is in their cheapness, but those things will cost nothing less than $500,000 per piece by the time they're ready for mass production. In the MIC we trust.

They are advanced, no western air defense systems in Ukraine is able to stop them.

For the past 3 years, even the best US/NATO AD and EW systems have failed to intercept them.

This is how you people keep parroting propaganda. First, it was Israel is attacking Syria because of Iran. Now that Iran is out, Israel is still attacking Syria because of ... Iran?

Go back to the initial post, does it still surprise anyone that Lord Adam's response to the same post reflects more accurately on the issue(cause he could relate) but yours is a distance cry from it? You just struggle to comprehend and I wonder why. And now you're even asserting that I don't know what happened after Assad? It's only hard for you, decoding pieces of information is not that difficult.
Lawag3 already explained the Druze situation. Some support Syria and some don't. But I give very little damn about that or with Israel's so-called "humanitarian" operation.

My major issue with you is you mentioning Iran. Jolani has already stopped weapons flow to Hezbollah and has also countered Iran's influence in Syria.

So saying Israel is bombing Syria to prevent weapons flow and Iran's influence is really weird, off point, and just another attempt to justify Israel's actions by blaming Iran.

Focus instead on blaming Israel. How can a single country be fighting everyone, and yet, it is the victims that are the problem?

If you're fighting one or two people, it's understandable. But when you're fighting all your neighbors and even your neighbor's neighbor, then maybe you are the problem.

Alamkiir:
The point is we need to here from Russia, what side are they on?
Why do some of you like dragging Russia into every ugly piece in the geopolitical chessboard? grin

Well, the Syrians asked for it. They said they are tired of Assad (he was bad but was able to unite and hold together much of the country, by fighting off the brazen terrorism sponsored by the west and the chaos fanned by Turkey) and they preferred the same terrorist elements that destabilized the country for years to rule as their new found messiah.

Now, let them face the result. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

Let the Joolani terrorist government backed by the west and Turkey taste what Assad that they deposed has been dealing with for a decade from the same western backers and handlers.

Russia should sit this out with hands akimbo. Pour some vodka and smile wryly as madness strikes across and in-between the geopolitical mortal enemies of Syria.

From the comfort of my home far away in Delta, I can see the possibilities. Currently, the odds are in favour of them:

1. Turkey and Israel will eventually strike each other in Syria, leading to major escalations.

2. The US will be caught in the crosshairs. (AIPAC/Mossad and the oil profiteering elites would make sure that the US doesn't pull out totally from Syria. Trump is in for a long roller coaster ride.)

3. Elements of the REAL Syrian army that crossed into Iraq following the overthrow of Assad might regroup, in conjunction with other aggreived groups in the country and launch a regime change attack into Damascus, backed by Iraqi government forces and Iran. This will leave Israel and the US and Turkey even more confused.

4. As the chaos spreads, Iran might decide to open a preemptive attack front against Israel by activating its forces in Iraq and Lebanon. The worst would happen if Turkey decides to align and coordinate interests with Terhan.

5. Since the US cannot allow Israel to lose nor antagonize Turkey, a key NATO member holding its nukes, the frustration that would hit the trump administration camp would be like a nightmare.

All these while Russia is still sipping its vodka. cool

In the end, all the parties involved will start calling on Russia as the lone big elephant in the room that can turn the tides based on who or where it chose to pitch its tent. Thus, the influence that so many erroneously concluded that Russia has lost with the departure of Assad would be reiterated and demonstrated for all to see.

Now, take this as an assignment: where would Russia pitch its tent if the above scenario unfolds?

Do you think, as asserted, Russia can make the difference in the given scenario?

Geopolitics isn't a game of carrot and sticks. It's all about aggregation of interest, stark realities and logical deductions.

Joolani had his time.

Turkey basked in that euphoria.

Israel is enjoying its time.

Russia own dey come. But how and in what direction?

I'm out.

Alamkiir was commenting on China's FM most recent outpouring of support for Iran.
It's almost becoming a weekly affair.

On Syria, I don't think anyone has called out Russia during this episode.
If Druze militia can hold up Jolani terrorists until Israeli air strikes arrived, it is as clear as day that the SAA should have vanquished Jolani with Russian air support.
They sold out Assad.

Time will correct many wrongs.
For now, Iran and Russia are sitting on the sidelines and clinking glasses.
It is a miracle that they were able to keep Syria stable despite the harsh sanctions.

We desperately need a parallel economic system.
This is the major reason why I'd be ecstatic if Trump follows through and enacts 100%+ secondary tariffs on Russia.
The Axis has tried not to upset the cart because many in the Global South are still linked to the Hegemon economic system.
A secondary tariff escalation will be a net positive like the SWIFT ban turned out to be.

Your article says Lebanon not Syria
And you're accusing someone of lacking comprehension

Syrian authorities seized a shipment of weapons heading to the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon, the official SANA news agency reported on Sunday

According to SANA, the shipment was heading to Hezbollah via smuggling routes on the Lebanon-Syria border, in the area of the border city of Sarghaya.

Images showed several assault rifles, RPG launchers, and ammunition.

Earlier this month, Syrian authorities said they captured a shipment of rifles, Iranian-made drones, and other weapons they said were headed to Lebanon, but at the time did not explicitly mention Hezbollah.

Active Syrian efforts to prevent weapon transfers to Hezbollah would represent a significant turnaround after years of enabling such shipments under the former Bashar al-Assad regime, though it was unclear whether the latest captures represented a broad shift in policy.

Iran long supplied Hezbollah with weapons through Syria with Assad’s blessing, but there has been some hope that this would stop under the country’s new rulers, who are not aligned with Iran’s regional aspirations.

Israel has also been concerned that weapons from the fallen regime could be sent to the terror group in Lebanon. The IDF has struck several border crossings between Syria and Lebanon to prevent arms from reaching Hezbollah.

Sharaa has also asserted that Israel had a right to target Iranian-backed forces, who supported Assad and backed Hezbollah, prior to the former Syrian leader’s fall, but he said that Israel has no legitimate basis to keep operating in Syria since the regime change.

Immediately after Assad’s fall, Israeli forces moved into a buffer zone along the border, but said this was a temporary measure until the intentions of the new regime could be verified.

He has repeatedly assured Israel and Western powers that Syria was exhausted by years of civil war and that at this stage it would not be dragged into conflicts that may lead to further destruction, but would rather focus on reconstruction and stability.

In late December, Sharaa also announced the dissolution of armed factions and said that Syria’s new leadership would not allow any weapons in the country that are not under state control.

Israel has also signaled its desire to have “correct ties” with the new regime, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in early December, but “if this regime allows Iran to reestablish itself in Syria, or allows the transfer of Iranian weapons or any other weapons to Hezbollah, or attacks us, we will respond forcefully and we will exact a heavy price from it.”

Israel and Syria do not have diplomatic relations and have formally been in a state of war since Israel declared independence in 1948.
