Why would you want to transport your car without registration/plate number. You should have planned all these out before buying or importing. You can actually get plate number from any state of your choice and sent to Lagos by courier within a week. That way you save yourself the stress of being extorted or even losing your car to the custom/rogue police

I have been travelling across the country by night .north east west and south ..

I will tell you most road robberies happen in broad day light than night ..

There are robbery and kidnapping incident at night but not as rampant as day time ..

The robbers prefer daylight for smooth operation


They don't want to be caught off guard during night operations so passengers don't spring surprises on them ..


I love night travel cos it's smoother and faster but my last trip last month from pH to Lagos was not it ..

One stupid traffic from Owerri to ihiala from 1am till 7am..

Got home to Lagos by noon ..lol

In all I still prefer night travels .

Please I need your inputs, can I transport a new car from Lagos to East without plate number. A car that is newly imported (foreign used) but yet to het a license plate. I need suggestions. And if not, how long would it take me to get a lagos license plate?

If the custom duty and all particulars are genuine, you have nothing to fear.

If you can drive yourself down to East do as he said but if you can't drive yourself still do your paperwork correctly no mistakes
Where they write 2 make sure is 2 not z if not police go use you shine.
If can drive yourself hold everything as he or she said over here then you will be showing police love if you feel like

The law says you have maximum 2 months after date of purchase to register a vehicle. Just get original customs papers and pay your duties completely.

You can drive the car down yourself to any destination as long as you have a genuine custom papers,your driver's licence and any other means of identification. Please make sure the duty is fully paid to avoid customs issue. As for the men in black they can't do you nothing unless you don't have a driver's licence, patapata they will just tell you to find them something. Getting a new liscence plate is 50/50 for men in black oooo

Be ready to settle the hawks called custom, police, soldiers on the road. To rattle you, they might tell you your custom papers are fake and you didn't pay correct money.
