Setting The Record: CPC Bloc's Continued Commitment To APC - Okoi Obono-Obla by press9jatv(op): 12:31pm On Jul 17, 2025
Setting the Record Straight: CPC Bloc's Continued Commitment to APC:

The spokesman of the fringe ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, is merely playing politics and giving misleading impressions in a bid to galvanize support. However, by engaging in such deceitful tactics, he has unwittingly incurred the wrath of the authentic and genuine members of the defunct CPC bloc within the APC.

Undoubtedly, the leader of the CPC bloc is Senator Tanko Umaru Al-Makura—and no one else. We have unequivocally and irrevocably resolved to remain in the APC and support the bold reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Bolaji Abdullahi is not a member of the CPC bloc, nor was he part of late President Muhammadu Buhari’s inner political circles. Therefore, he lacks the standing to speak on our behalf.

It is important to clarify that the impression created by Bolaji Abdullahi in the Punch Newspaper edition of 17 June 2027 titled "2027 Tensions: Buhari's CPC Bloc May Leave APC" is not only misleading—it is demonstrably false.

How can Bolaji Abdullahi suggest that Isah Patami, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rauf Aregbesola are Buharists? These individuals have never been Buharists—ideologically or otherwise. Apart from Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who was a member of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Rotimi Amaechi only joined the APC in May 2014 when he defected from the PDP. He was never a member of the defunct CPC, nor a Buharist at any point between 1999 and 2014.

Isah Patami merely benefited from President Buhari’s political benevolence. He was unknown in Buhari’s political circles until his appointment as Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency and later as Minister. Therefore, all those mentioned by Bolaji Abdullahi were, at best, President Buhari’s political appointees. It is misleading to create the impression or assume that everyone who served in his cabinet or was appointed by him was a loyalist or Buharist.

Before his passing, President Muhammadu Buhari strongly reaffirmed his continued membership in the APC and expressed great appreciation to the party that gave him the opportunity to serve as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria—twice.

It is disheartening that, in this solemn period of national mourning, individuals like Bolaji Abdullahi and his cohorts of political desperados would begin to use his name in vain.

Same man who attacked and insulted Buhari while alive for dropping him due to corruption charges is now claiming to be CPC. Anyways, the fact that Tinubu's fiercest opponents today were in the APC should tell you that there's no pathway to his re-election. He has lost voters and has not gained enough to make up for the lost votes. Don't forget he won with the slimmest margin of victory ever in the history of the country.

ADC will reduce votes from APC.
The so-called ADC folks except El-Rufai never supported APC or Tinubu in 2023 and he flogged them hard.

So, nothing has changed in overall effect.

They will only reduce votes of PDP and LP in equal measure.

When you realize that:

- On his own without Buhari, with all his structure built for over 20 years, Tinubu has only a little above 2 million supporters.

- On his own, without a single political structure, Peter Obi has over 6 million supporters.

From 1 APC state to 4 in the SS and the remaining 2 will still be added, his NW support is still very intact-wamakko,o,ganduje,yerima,Yari,bagudu etc and has made massive in roads into KD south and Corr xtian Middle belt far more than he had in 23 and his core support base in the NC is still unwavering and at the ready.....his only major challenge I see for now is the NE which is still 50/50 as for his SW it's a no brainer which is also a huge voting block and whether you like it or not tribalism will play a factor.....the SE are what they are stoic irredentist and he doesn't care.......the greatest undoing of you guys is your failure in acknowledging his strengths and being motivated by only hate.....that guy is already far stronger than 23.

Instead of you to focus on how to salvage your rickety bole kaja ADC that is already faltering even before getting started, you are here consoling urself with the lies of malami and his co travellers.

Where are the 6 million supporters? With the almost moribund LP and your only state gov has unequivocally made he clear he supports Tinubu's policies.....your delusion deserves an award.

This CPC bloc, with the passing of President Buhari, hold the key to the elections in 2027.

Who they shred and to where will determine what other alliance President Tinubu needs to form.

I am sure the know how important they are, as President Tinubu's deal was with President Buhari, and it would be interesting to see how they twist and turn.
