THE PROPOSED "IGBO FEST" IN PORT HARCOURT WILL CAUSE THE BREAKDOWN OF LAW AND ORDER. #FOR_THE_RECORDS Ikwerre Media @topfans #ikwerremedia #portharcourt #ikwerre ... Wednesday 18th July, 2025 The Inspector-General of Police, Nigeria Police Force, Louis Edet House, Shehu Shagari Way, P.M.B 266, Central Business District, FCT, Abuja. Sir, THE PROPOSED "IGBO FEST" IN PORT HARCOURT WILL CAUSE THE BREAKDOWN OF LAW AND ORDER We write to draw your attention to a highly combustible issue that has the potential of threatening the existing law and order in Port Harcourt. This emergent threat to law and order is predicated on a provocative proposal by the Igbo community in Port Harcourt to host their Igbo Fest in the City of Port Harcourt on July, 27, 2025 at Model Primary School G.R.A, Besides Polo Club. Consequently, Ikwerre People's Association (IPA) wishes to emphatically declare as follows: 1. That Ikwerre people are not Igbos. 2. That Igbos have five state capitals and numerous other cities where the so-called "Igbo Fest" could take place but their choice of Port Harcourt is aimed at causing the breakdown of law and order. 3. That IPA and indeed, all patriotic Ikwerre indigenes stand in strong opposition to this impending gratuitous insult by the community and their plans to use hoodlums to cause the breakdown of law and order. IPA and other affiliate Pan-Ikwerre organisations are in receipt of credible intelligence report that the Igbo community in PH is hell-bent on bringing chaos into the Garden City of Port Harcourt and has perfected hideous plans to import agent provocateurs and muscle-bound thugs to shield the July 27 celebration, where they intend to declare Rivers State as an Igbo State and impose Sit-At-Home order on Rivers State. This is the secret agenda behind the July 27th celebration. The proposed event will certainly result in a downward slide to social anarchy if it is allowed to proceed. We can assure the Rivers State Government, security agencies and sundry stakeholders that the proposed Igbo Fest has become the subject of heightened public interest, and the dire consequences of allowing it to proceed will unleash a catastrophic response that may be difficult to contain. We are therefore calling on the Inspector-General of Police to use his good office to abort the impending chaos by putting a stop to the so-called "Igbo Fest" in Port Harcourt. This letter, if real, is a desecration and contravention of the constitution that guarantees everyone freedom of movement and association In saner clime, to write this sort of letter attacking people's constitutional right to freely go to any part of Nigeria and and freely express themselves, should have attracted a police invitation for the writter at the very least, to explain why he thinks he is bigger than the constitution But its Nigeria |

the letter is filled with undeserved hate for that tribe. So much hate in one letter. If an igbo man was the president, all these hate would stop at once. Anyways, the Igbos should try and apply another means to communicate with people to be able to integrate and develop a friendly relationship. |
