Obi Has Become Alternative To Buhari, He Is The Only Politician Who Enjoys "Cult" Following- Analyst


Analyst and political commentator, Dickson Iroegbu was comparing the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi with Muhammadu Buhari based on the loyalty of their followers.

Iroegbu made the statement while speaking about the upcoming presidential election in 2027. He said in Nigeria today, there is no politician with loyal supporters like Peter Obi.

He said the kind of following that Obi is enjoying today can only be compared to what Muhammadu Buhari enjoyed in the past.

He urged the African Democratic Congress,ADC, to adopt Peter Obi as its candidate going into the presidential election.

Difference is buhari can control his followers, obi cannot control them.

Obi is far bigger than Tinubu in terms of grassroots support. Tinubu has only about 2 million supporters. That’s the number of votes he gave to Buhari, and that’s the number of votes he got when he himself ran for President.

It can only work if he has el rufai, rotimi amechi,Solomon dating, and other fiery politicians with street credibility who will not let things slide if he is rigged out, but if its just obi forget it Tinubu will flog him ten times and nothing will happen, just as nnamdi kanu is incaserated for years with no repercussions
