Ganduje Explains Absence During Tinubu’s Kano Visit by treesun(op): 12:58pm On Jul 19, 2025
The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has given reasons why he was unavoidably absent during President Bola Tinubu’s condolence visit to Kano on Friday, saying it was due to a pre-scheduled personal engagement in London.

The personal engagement commenced five days after Dr Ganduje’s resignation from the party’s leadership.

A former Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman, Malam Muhammad Garba, made the clarification in a statement, a copy of which was made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday.

He said contrary to media speculations suggesting that Ganduje was either unwell or deliberately excluded from the President’s entourage, the former National Chairman had travelled to London for a personal engagement that had been arranged well in advance.

He explained that the visit by President Tinubu, which was aimed at paying condolences to the family of the late business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, was communicated to Ganduje “but unfortunately, despite frantic efforts to reschedule his flight and itinerary, the logistics made it impossible for him to return in time.”

“Dr Ganduje made every effort to adjust his plans but was unable to do so.

“However, despite being abroad, Dr Ganduje remained in constant communication virtually every hour or two with key party leaders, including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, and the APC Kano State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, to ensure smooth coordination for the President’s visit,” Garba further explained.

Garba emphasised that Ganduje’s resignation as APC National Chairman in no way affects his cordial and longstanding relationship with President Tinubu, a bond built over years of mutual respect and political alignment.

“The APC in Kano remains fully united, loyal, and committed to the vision and leadership of President Tinubu,” he said, reaffirming the party’s strong support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

I don’t think he was missed. Who asked for this explanation?

If you weren’t around when the president came to your state, you shouldn’t be expected to drop all you’re doing just to come see someone you have his phone number.

Re: Ganduje Explains Absence During Tinubu’s Kano Visit by AMINDA: 1:35pm On Jul 19, 2025
Keep explaining. Tinubu has fried himself in the North. He himself knows that's why he has been hopping from one Northern state to the other. The numbers are not looking good for Tinubu right now and Kwankwaso is still dragging his feet. Can't blame him. He's a shrewd politician. He would only join the APC if he's convinced that they stand half a chance. Unfortunately, Tinubu has already treacherously done away with erstwhile allies like Ganduje and El-Rufai and even Shettima is silently aggrieved. Tinubu needs Kwankwaso more than Kwankwaso needs him right now, and Kwankwaso will milk this leverage until the last drop. The master strategist finds himself isolated in the North!

The entire North has rejected Tinubu. No matter how hard he tries to please them because of the 12 million Bihari votes, North will not vote for him for making their lives unbearable.
Re: Ganduje Explains Absence During Tinubu’s Kano Visit by DIVINEEVIDENCE:
Abdullahi, since after the burial, why have you not made out time to at least visit the grieving family like others have done?

Abdullahi, your arguments are watery and are only a face-saving attempt to avoid the political storm that you are very much aware will blow up in your face soon.

Abdullahi, do you think your plum position in the federal government that has sidelined notable northern figures like the eminent Nasir El Rufai and Waziri Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will still remain behind you when the chickens come home to roost?

Abdullahi, I leave you with a Lukumi proverb that says that many are mad but few are roaming. cheesy cheesy

Abdullahi, it will soon be election time and the North will remember.

THIS IS A DEAD GIVEAWAY THAT GANDUJE HAS LEFT TINUBU'S CAMP

THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK IS DOES GANDUJE FLY COMMERCIAL OR PRIVATE JET

THEN IF HE FLIES PRIVATE JET THEN DOESN'T HIS DECISION TO FLY DETERMINE THE MOVEMENT OF THE PRIVATE JET?

THEN IF HE WAS FLYING COMMERCIAL TO LONDON....HOW MUCH IS THE TICKET MONEY THAT HE CAN'T CANCEL AND FORFEIT LIKE 10 MILLION NAIRA TICKET IS BIG MONEY TO GANDUJE

Re: Ganduje Explains Absence During Tinubu’s Kano Visit by Bimpe29(m): 1:58pm On Jul 19, 2025
There's more to that as the excuse advanced by Ganduje's Chief of Staff was somewhat lame. Changing of flight shouldn't be that difficult.

These people are wasting their time explaining, what is their explanation going to change, is it the opposition's notions who have already made up their minds, they are trying to convince or what.
