It doesn't have to be only politics. Northerners are simple in life style which Buhari showed the traits. No politicians in north is currently close to such traits
You are saying stuff that cannot be measured like saying Mr As wife is finer than Mr Bs

It has no meaning

Let us stick to measurable objective facts

We are discussing elections performance
First of all is the definition of The North
Let us be clear there is NW NE NC
he was not popular in NC and did not win Borno in 2011

Before he joined APC his performance never exceeded that of Bashir Tofa in 1993

So the idea of cult like following IN THE NORTH is suggesting something with no basis

Yes, North need to lead itself, it's almajiris before thinking of leading Nigeria.

People like Tambuwal and Aliyu really miscalculated. If not, they should be in Poll position to lead the north by now
lmao tambuwal ? Bro it is by AURA. tambuwal has the aura of a clown. It is your AURA that creates your following. You see you have to cultivate your aura. You see aminu dantata and Buhari ? Those 2 have that perfect aura to lead A people. You have to be seen as upright and move with dignity and class and grace. You have to be upright looking too meaning cultivate your stature in how you walk.

Simply, when it comes to Nigerian setting. We need to define what the term "NORTH" means. I often feel there's a selective precision attached to that nomenclature. Besides some affiliates feel they're more northerners than others.

There were:

1. Ahmadu Bello

2. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa

3. Aminu Kano

4. Abubakar Rimi, and

5. Muhammadu Buhari.

Muhammadu Buhari committed class suicide. Despite being a General in the Army and being a minister of petroleum and natural resources as well as governor of old Northeastern state, Buhari was not openly aligned with the elites in the north. They were never in support of him being the president. His aversion for luxury and open elitism attracted him to the poor masses. They felt his humble background and humble living resonated with them.

They could connect with him on that level.

It took Buhari more than 20 years to build that cult followership. He succeeded because he committed class suicide. As an elite, he refused to be on the side of the elites and sided with the poor. He was not seen living ostentatiously. He was hated by the elites in the north. When he came back to run for president, his greatest opposition was the northern elite gang. He wasn't their friend. The poor masses gave him votes and fought for him. When he became president, the elites sought him out to be his friend. No one has his credentials. No one takes over from him.

Atiku has not shown consistency in his politics, having defected from PDP-->AC-->PDP-->APC-->PDP-->ADC-->huh Such flip-flop political acrobatics does not enshrine trust in followers.

The closest who was a shining star was the chairman of the subsidy probe who was exposed on camera collecting a bribe and going to prison which ended his career. Others with promising credentials are Kashim Shettima and Babagana Zulum.

What I think may happen is the concentration of regional political arrowheads. The northwest may align behind one person, the northeast may align with theirs (likely Shettima or Zulum), the northcentral will always be a battleground due to the numerous ethnic groups. The southwest mostly aligns with one person. The southsouth will also be a battleground due to their numerous ethnic groups. I am not sure the southeast will align behind one person.

The politics of the future will be determined by who is able to make friends across geopolitical zones.
You have good understanding of northern politics and Nigeria national discourse.

I've been telling people about Atiku not loved in the north, they argue and permutate lies..

With Buhari out of the picture, 2027 will put all this to rest.

That's the kind of abusive language, and condescension that leads to many southern candidates like obi losing in the north.

At the end, you call the north producers of abysmal leadership, illiterates and so forth, and then when election time comes, ye want them to vote for your candidate, support restructuring, and even support your position, after you have abused them all day long.

That's how elections are lost man. You are copying the ronu people who abused igbos and then expected them to vote for tinubu in 2023, while still being bigoted about it.

Better change yer attitude.

And did Nigeria get better under the soutth. Gej that was not abysmal ran down our forex from 60 to 30 billion dollars and was borrowing from june 2014, and having problems handling boko, and even then folk like you were blaming the North for his mistakes.

Honestly I don't understand ye guys and your opponents. Ye are both alike in many ways..
So, what he said is worse than what Proff Ango Abdullahi said about Buhari's government?

E sure me die say you no even read the post at all.

Typical batist.

In America, you don't need 50% to be the President.
