The government of Eswatini is facing fierce criticism after accepting five men deported from the United States, all accused or convicted of serious violent crimes, including murder and child rape.

The men who are citizens of Vietnam, Jamaica, Cuba, Yemen, and Laos, were described by US authorities as “depraved monsters.” Eswatini officials say the men are in transit and currently held in solitary confinement, but civil rights groups have condemned the move, accusing the government of compromising national sovereignty to appease Washington.

The deportations are part of the US government's controversial crackdown on immigration under President Donald Trump, which includes pressuring African nations to accept third-country deportees. The policy has drawn outrage both domestically and internationally, with critics accusing the US of using poorer nations as “dumping grounds” for unwanted migrants.

Other countries, including Nigeria and South Sudan, report similar pressure from the US amid shifting American visa and trade policies.

They can bring them to Nigeria if the US is willing to pay $1 billion for upkeep of each criminal. Tinubu needs plenty of money to finish the coastal road. This is better than borrowing the money

There are many reasons.

1) In some cases the US does not have diplomatic relations with their home countries and the home countries refuse to take them.

2) In some cases the immigrants claim assylum and by law the US has to take them. Therefore they have cases in immigration court and the US says that it's sending them to 3rd countries until the case is concluded (but you and I know that they won't take them back).

3) In some cases there's political instability in their home countries, so the US cannot legally send them back.

4) In some cases their home countries do not want them.

Stumble on a video of the visit of this king to Ghana recently, first he came down from this massive aircraft and I was wondering how can such a poor country afford this kind of jet for their king. Next he was ushered into a gold colored Maybach with this Indian looking woman next to him I guess his newest wife. So I am sure this accepting of criminals came with some financial incentive, so the so called king can continue to maintain his lavish lifestyle.
