Did the same however my pop c is late my mum c built her own house so I was the only one..moving to my parents house was expensive initially cos I had to renovate it with modern amenities..tiles, windows, doors, sofas, plumbing..the pumping machine was faulty, the house had an estimated bill of close to 900k at the end of the day spent close to 15m renovating and furnishing the house...could have easily paid 1m to 1.5 yearly and furnished it with 3 to 5 m but I am happy when I finally relocate with my wife to the US can be getting 1m to 1.5m yearly from the said house. So nothing spoil

My father has a big compound.
As of 24 I was itching to get my own apartment. I finally did and I left the house.

I enjoyed my freedom to the fullest
My privacy my clubbing late night dates and sexcapades. I enjoyed it all.

But at the end my parents are old
And it got me feeling that I should move back to my father's house

It dint make sense that my dad has a huge compound and yet I'm living in an apartment where my rent has been increased to 850k

What do you think?
I want to completely move in the compound and live there and marry and born my children there.
Honestly bro, your plan makes a lot of sense. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad or gaslight you.

You’ve lived on your own, enjoyed your freedom, and experienced that phase of life. That’s something many people wish they had the guts to do. But now, you’re thinking of what’s sustainable and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

If your dad has a big compound and you have the chance to live there, build your home, raise your family, and still save money in this economy why not? That’s wisdom. That’s maturity. It doesn’t mean you’re going backward; it means you’re planning smart.

People will always have something to say, but at the end of the day, they won’t help you pay rent or raise your kids. So go ahead with your decision. Set your boundaries, make the space yours, and build the future you want. No shame in that at all.

It is OK to say that the state of the economy is what is driving you back home to your parents. No need to think we will belittle you for that. I actually expected a lot of people to reasonably do the same — move back home with parents or buckle down to ride out the situation together. During the 2007-2008 recessions here in the United States, many people did exactly the same, and it turned out to be the best decision for most of them. undecided

It's obvious that it's Tinubu that's sending you back home not caring for your aged parents. Poverty na bastarrd.

Are you returning to your parents because they are old or because you are intimidated by cost of living?

If their ages are your motivation, your decision is nice. But I hope the planned relocation will not negatively affect your income.

If cost of living is what is chasing you, you are still a prodigal son but returning to your parents' house is better than resorting to crimes.

I have 2 sisters and 1 brother.
The 2 are married far away from home. My bro is in Germany

I'm the only one close to them.

I'm coming back because at the end of the day.
The house is still my house.
When my parents move on.
I will be left to manage it
So what us the point of paying 850k when I have my father compound that is big
You don't want to club, keep late nights and do your various escapades again? Or you want to be doing them under your parents' watch?

There is nothing wrong with moving to your parent's house.

I live about 15 mins drive from my parent's house, and I see them almost every day. Nothing I will give to them that will be superior than my presence, attention and time. I bet your parent will feel the same, and its a honour to them, and your days will be long. Also, there is no point paying astronomical rent when you can live rent free at your parent's house. Save up your rent, reduce your living expense and invest in your future. Mind you, living with parents is common in many parts of the world, in countries like Italy and India for example.

Your life, your rules. If it makes sense to you and doesnt offend anyone or a crime, just do your thing and disregard public opinion, thats what it means to be a man.
This is especially true if the said house is in a major economic area. I see no reason young people should spend money to rent in the same city their parents live provided the family house is big enough to accommodate the children or the parents have more than one house. Rent-free in Nigeria spoiled me so much that it took time to gradually change my mindset here after graduation. My first time paying rent.

My brother do what you have to do. You don't need anyone's advice. You're the one wearing the shoes so only you know where it pinches. Don't look or listen to what people say. Do your thing.
