I'm inquisitive in nature and I sometimes find myself being curious with regard to different cultural norms or religious beliefs, but I unfortunately mostly find myself getting attacked here on nairaland whenever I ask questions in relation to Islam... They'd assume that I'm being sarcastic when I genuinely don't know much about the religion and tend to get curious sometimes. I know most of you would think that I'm either joking or being ignorant when I say Islam is a minority religion here in SA and that the majority of black South Africans don't practice it... Some of us even tend to confuse it for an Asian culture rather than a religion... And those who practice it here in SA are predominantly Cape Malays, the descendants of the enslaved Malaysians and Indonesians who were imported into the country of SA to work as labourers during the era of slavery as well as some SA Indians who were also brought to SA as slaves... So next time when ask something in relation to Islam, please bear with me as I'll be asking from a good place without any ulterior motives... I also do the same with Hindus and Buddhists. To support my statement, here are three beautiful South African Muslim weddings, you'll see that it's mostly South African Cape Malays and not black South Africans... I don't encourage religious bigotry on this forum and anyone who'll attempt to derail this thread will be blocked. Samantha125:The bride shouldn't be "clothed yet unclothed" at first. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen yet. People with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, walking with an enticing gait. They will not enter Paradise nor even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance may be detected from such and such a distance.” The scholars interpret “clothed yet naked” as referring to women who wear tight clothes or light clothing that does not cover what is beneath it, or short clothes. |

Samantha125:The command is to enter islam perfectly and completely and not do it sometimes and throw it away other times! But not all women from Islamic countries fully cover up on a daily basis when in public because religion in general is considered a personal choice whereby everyone has the freedom to choose how they practice their faiths. I can even post videos here of Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the UAE where some women are walking in public freely without having fully covered up...
