joseph1832:Joe, I've never been a PDP or APC or LP guy. Political parties are SPVs. I'm about personalities. I campaigned for Osinbajo, Fayemi, and Obi in the same election season, and on this thread. That should tell about where my loyalty lies - with the person running, not the party. I don't care which party it is - even if it's KOWA. Just field a good candidate so I can campaign, canvass for votes, vote and 'waste' my vote knowing I voted my conscience. If I do that, I am good. ![]() |

Emaprince:The Gallon D’or himself is easily one of the most spineless men I’ve ever seen on social media. Always quick to pick fights with people he clearly can’t match in banter. And he’s a certified bandwagon merchant, the moment he sees others doing A, he jumps in without thinking. He’ll start throwing shots unprovoked, but once you have his time and give him the attention he seeks, he’ll either deactivate, block you, or go crying to the mods. Classic loudmouth with a glass chin. |

KingTom:Local government is the closest government to the people and it's important that they are well-funded. Any President that does what Tinubu did for the LGAs, means well for the populace. The issue now is for those at that level to perform. That's one of the reasons I haven't given up on Tinubu. Elsewhere, a Governor stylishly scrapped the LGAs by not conducting elections for 7+ years. You won't see me clapping for such leader, let alone supporting him for the highest position in the country. |

DissTroy:Hehehehe. Reminds me of The Matrix, when Agent Smith asked Neo why he keeps fighting, knowing he can never win. His reply is: "because I chose to". How noble. Still, that's fiction, this is reality. I still respect your decision though. Cheers. 🥂 |

liveLongNprospa:Crazy decision? I honestly don't think so. His past versions made the most logical and rational decision: chosing everyone else before himself. It was this version that made that crazy decision, which is of course, over a ![]() |

donjazzet:While I agree that the rich in Nigeria often try to serve us fake grass to grace stories like the Atlanta born musician who's a billionaire's son telling you he remembers when he was in Face me I face you, there are some of these family ties that we are stretching a wee bit too far. For example, Buruji Kashamu and I are second cousins, but nothing about my life's successes or failures can be tied to him, absolutely nothing! When tomorrow now somebody sees me and says ah omo Kashami ni e no wonder this, no wonder that e go too pain me I'm sure most of us here have wealthy relatives but more often than not, they don't come through for us🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ |

OasisX:Troll. I personally think Tinubu has three things working for him which many politicians can't lay claim to: 1. Not micromanaging his appointees. Ministers are fairly independent. Along with heads of MDAS generally. 2. He lets squabbles between warring factions of his government play out without wading in publicly. E.g the Ngalele and Onanuga, and state APCs. 3. His insistence on governors ceding financial control to LG bosses and their seeming independence. He's been opposed to the no LG elections de facto status quo. I like those three. |

Theflint1:Governors are strangling the LGAs Check what happened during LGA elections in most states. The constitution has to be reviewed for the autonomy to work. |

OasisX:◾Local Government Autonomy ✔️ ◾Tax Reform ✔️ ◾Overhaul and Digitalization of Passport Issuance System ✔️ ◾Increased crude production ✔️ ◾NELFUND ✔️ Make I drop this one. True life story. It was in August 2023. My institution was on vacation and I was in Lagos. On that fateful day, around 5pm, I was driving and was stuck in traffic on Ikorodu road. A young guy selling gala approached at my driver's side, and gesticulated to me to buy. I shook my head and waved my hand indicating I wasn't interested. This guy no leave, instead he tapped on my windscreen and gesticulated for me to wind down the glass. I became annoyed, and in my mind was like, "wetin na, na by force to buy?" So I wound down with the intention to halla for him. He spoke before I could utter a word, and what he said made me freeze, and deflated my anger and annoyance completely. He said; "Sorry sir, I just wanted to greet you. You're my lecturer at XYZ university. You thought me ABC 101 and EFG 111 last session". With shock on my face, I said "Wow! Which department and what are you doing here"? He replied; "Anatomy sir. I'm hustling to raise money to pay my school fees, and go back to school on resumption" Me: You came a long way o. I never imagined to meet any of my students like this. Well done. The traffic was about to move so I picked my phone and told him to drop his digits promising to message him later that night So when I got home, I called him and requested for his aza, and when he sent it, I transferred 10k to him. To put things in perspective, I live and work in the farthest state in the South east, and this encounter was in LAGOS. The encounter completely changed my perspective and mindset about the students. It opened my eyes, and made me see their suffering, hustling and what they go through to be in school. As per our local market here, encounters plenty so make I no go that side. If one student could cross states to hawk gala in Lagos traffic just to return to school in the East, then there are thousands more like him with stomachs rumbling but hanging on by grit and hope. That’s why I rate NELFUND and would always commend PBAT for it. It’s not politics but helping the poor, and this kind of help will lessen the burden of parents, enable families re-apportion resources and also make a difference in their lives. OasisX, you're welcome. |

The above is why I don't really debate sociopolitical issues with many of you: You play politics of hatréd. I mentioned three things I like about the Tinubu administration, you ignore the two you can't refute the nitpick on one which is stripped in technicalities and is partly a constitutional issue. The idea that the head of the other side of the partisan divid gets even one thing right irks you lots. It's exactly how you attacked Obi when he said something good about the Tinubu administration. And attack any Obi supporter who says anything good about the Tinubu administration: - https://guardian.ng/politics/i-think-president-tinubu-has-performed-exceptionally-peter-obi/ - https://www.nairaland.com/8448267/tunde-onakoya-responds-attacks-obidients#135706366 See why I keep reiterating Obi is a prisoner of the Obidient Movement? The mob keep making my point. This is morphing into a cult. |

semid4lyfe:.....thank you for your honesty and the story. It seems you ain't aware of CREDICORP yet?! Civil Servants will soon be enjoying it. Let me add that, Naira is now stable. BDC Operators ain't definitely happy with PBAT Administration and Policies. Removal of subsidy has helped the economy growing as well. States are getting huge FAAC, hence main reason none of them ever comes out tk criticise the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu so far so good. I don't wanna make mouth, but next year gonna be raining honey in Nigeria. The storm is almost over. |

DissTroy:You mentioned three points, two of which are very much subjective and in truth not so important to the general populace, the meat of the things you scored Tinubu for was that LG autonomy and it's only right that gets primary focus. If you agree that LG autonomy hasn't really taken flight because of constitutional bottlenecks, why so eager to score the man for it ...I mean this is someone that has the senate functioning as a rubberstamp for him, don't you think if it was something he really cared about he'd ensure it's properly implemented?Theflint1:This was me a couple days ago praising BAT for the stability in the FX market, it's something that's an objective success, one that's trickled down to the general business population and I've rightfully praised his handling of the situation. I know you're always eager to praise BAT so it doesn't look like you're playing the politics of hatred, but fact is there's been very little to praise his administration for and that you have to resort to half-truths and subjective nonsense to maintain your "no-hatred" gimmick is downright shameful. Do better. And BTW, attached is the link of your claim that Peter Obi was praising BAT...maybe you now ignore what's clearly sarcasm in your eagerness to heap unmerited praise on BAT.
