The bolded is why I'm excited to use Uber, I've heard they have the best riders. The only reason I was using indrive is because, I move around a lot for my other business, and instead of blowing empty, I can kill two birds with one stone and carry someone going my way, and that can be done easier with indrive. But the riders can be annoying sometimes...wanting you to carry them to their doorstep knowing the road to their house is really bad or flooded.
Most riders do this, even on Uber. You just have to stand your ground, especially if the situation is really bad. Some might even say they won't pay. It's better to forego the fare, than to spoil your car.

Thanks for this. I really don't understand why drivers don't use Uber. The thing dey baffle me. Just ignore the long pick ups but mind you, most times, the pick up distance is incorporated in the total fare. You just need to let the rider know you're on your way.
Uber has the best riders.
My brother Uber has d best riders. Once u confirm pickup u r golden. Even d rider won't want to cancel cause Uber got charge dem. Uber riders r polite and civil. Omo Uber dey try

Nice.

I registered on Uber (lexylexy, I used your link), and just got approved this morning. I will start using Uber after today and see how it goes.
U will enjoy. When I was driving I chase bonuses. It even helps u work hard. That my guy sef dey run promotions. Uber has in my option d best promotions. Ignore long pickups as stated. At least maintain golden badge on Uber as a driver n u r good. U MUST profit if my guy with SUV dey cash out. I will share update once I get it

Nice one baba. Just try to work during peak periods. Ignore the long pick ups. But if you see long pick up with good price baba run am. Especially priority trips, if road to pick up is free.

Do not cancel much, ignore any trip you don't like, only pick requests you intend to complete. Once you're more consistent on Uber, you'll start getting bonus. Uber has the best bonus in the game.
Bro I didnt even see this ur message before posting mine. Sometimes u can do long pick ups of 4.5km to consummate a 30-50km trip on Uber. That's not bad ooo.. and y I like Uber is if u encounter traffic u have a confidence that at least d price will favour u. Uber is one company that maintained its brand regardless of the indrive rubbish

When asking question, make it easy for whoever that wants to answer you.

The 40k you "make", is it gross or net or savings?

Gross is before commission
Net is after commission
Savings is after fuel money has been deducted.

But to answer your question on whether those short trips pay, no they don't if you do it too much.

The reason is because, that 8 minutes trip you're looking at there can consume 30 minutes of your time and more. Consider the time you will use to drive to the pickup, the waiting time, plus the uncertainty of Lagos road.
Sorry boss I thought I explained it while typing, yes i saves 40k daily ( after fuel and commissions )

But I still believe am not doing enough and so it’s why I threw that question to the floor.

But thank you for your input.
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Ajibaiye: 10:15am On Jul 21, 2025
Pearl1910:
From this analogy I will make same gross at the end of the day but u will use more fuel doing short short trips.

Long trips always pay more.
But be careful not to take a long trip that will hook u and u will have to drive long distance empty back to civilization.

Let's say the time u use in doing 3 short trips is d time u will complete 1 long trip. It means If u do 9 short trips as against 3 long trips...U would have burnt fuel driving empty to pickup on 6 more occasions than if u are doing long trips. Assuming the pickup distance is constant.
So d extra fuel u use to going to d pick up location will reduce ur profit at the end of the day.
Thank you so much boss mi. Really appreciate your input and I shall put everything into more consideration.

True sha. I had a bad experience yesterday, but I couldn't fully stand my ground cos I had just picked the girl and her family from the hospital with her day old baby she gave birth to the night before. We had to go through a longer route, and they only out 500 ontop of the fare.

These are his two weeks work for bolt and Uber. Hello also did rider but hasnt sent that yet.

Hello actually tried to register on indrive but it was rejected cause he had a previous account with them that had an issue or some reason like that so he took that as a sign from Heaven not to do indrive even wen dey later reached out to him to resolve.

See he said he buys 20k fuel and grosses 55-65k. His car is a 2.5L engine Rav 4 09.

Lifted for illustrative purpose only wink

As Lagride have evolved to electric cars, partners should consider alternative fuel (CNG, diesel, hybrid).

Can I register and use a Benz car for Uber /bolt ..for soft rides
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by knyte(m): 6:44pm On Jul 21, 2025
Biodun1929:
I'm quoting myself. (the quote is from April when I spoke on a bad day driving using InDrive)

When I made the above post, I was just starting this hustle for real in April. After the very poor results I got, I stopped, cos really, my car was chopping fuel, and I was having problem solving the issue (airflow meter). So I sold my manual transmission Kia cerato (2007 model) for 1.8 million, and made half payment for a 2008 Honda Accord. I bought it from a friend for 4 million. I paid 2 million, and we worked out a payment plan for the remaining. It was a great move.

Even though i'm not making money as much as the pros on here, but i'm doing much better. I went from someone that lost N455 after working with 25k fuel for a full day, to someone that used 13k fuel today to make a net of 27k. That's 14k profit. That's not much, but miles better than what I was making when I was using my Kia.

I thank you all for all the advice. It really helped. I'm sure I still picked some bad rides today (judging from the km I covered versus the amount I made), but from tomorrow, I will start using uber or Bolt, instead of InDrive.
Well done sir, that you didn't just give up
With 14k fuel you can still do better but as it is it's a long way from what was made before.
My advice, just evaluate your rides, drive to where you know only and of Course there's the God factor. Well done sir

Please bro, I have been having difficulty registering on Uber. Other docs have been approved expect my DL which they are rejecting countless times saying my document is illegible. IDK how else to snap the license again o. And they don’t allow us to choose a file from the device media, it must be a live shot. Any help?

Please my people I am new to the business. Just 2 days and I have not been accepting long distance trips like mainland-island yet. I wanna know, who pays for tolls or in cases of parking ticket? The driver or rider? Or is it factored in the trip fare already by bolt/uber/indrive and the driver pays? Thank you as you educate me.
Pls house, don’t ignore. I need an answer to this before I start to take long trips. Thanks

What exactly is wrong with the driver's license. You can always go to their office to resolve the issue.

There's no toll payment anywhere on the island, boss.
Na only MM international airport you go pay toll fee if you're following that route,
and car park at all airports.
You can take trips to all airports and drop passengers off, but avoid picking orders from the airports.
If for any reason, your only option is to use the MM International Airport gate to link to your rider's destination, inform your rider first before doing that and let them know that the toll fee is N300. 80% of riders won't agree to pay any toll fee, cos they feel you taking that route is to cut your own drive time (in your own favor).
I stopped asking riders for toll fee a very long time ago, cos I no dey take disrespect. I just pay on my own and move. Few riders will add it to your payment, majority no send you. That's why the trip fare has to be more than worth it.
So, no toll fee for mainland-island at all.

Much respect, boss.

Nothing really, this is what they keep siting (find attached) even after adhering to it.

Please where is their office on the mainland perhaps a physical documentation will be better

Your toll fees are included in the final fare, your rider pays. If you're going to pickup and you have to pass a tool road it's also included in the rider fare. Same for parking at recognized car parks. Also with your receipt you can make a claim if the fees were not included in the fare. ON UBER O

No, Bolt is not more profitable. You have to use both apps now to break even. I'm telling you for a fact... Especially now that indrive is also giving bonus.

For the past 3 weeks, I've not paid much to Indrive. I discovered that most riders book Bolt now after being ignored by Indrive drivers. One was booking from Anthony to Arowojobe Street, Mafoluku and put 3900 naira and no driver was accepting it.

The same trip came to me on Bolt and my net was 3100.
Just imagine 3100 from Anthony to oshodi
So those people shouting bolt is better, can you see how ridiculous bolt prices are🙄

To be honest, Indrive is becoming better than Bolt. The only problem with Indrive is the wait time to get a good ride which is becoming the same with Bolt now.

Also, Bolt trips are mostly short short trips of 1100, 1900, etc. Any trip that will pay you up to 5k net on Bolt eeh...

This trip here was 40 mins, 10.1km and my net was 4400.

People will hardly accept this trip at that price on Indrive.

Indrive doesn't include the toll fee. Some toll fees like the Ikeja City Mall, Nahco complex, etc., are not included in the fare and no, nobody adds the pickup toll to the fare please.

You only get the toll fee included if you have already started the trip and pass the toll gate.

Because I usually have this argument with riders. They'll tell me that the other driver didn't charge extra for it and I will tell them that he didn't charge extra for it doesn't mean he shouldn't.
