l agree, to add to what you wrote above, the founder of KFC was a retired Military officer in the US, After exiting the Military, he tried his chicken business and recipe, supplied to several outlets and it was rejected, but he never gave up, he was around 65 years l think when he started experimenting with his KFC chicken and today KFC is practically in every country on planet Earth, so life can start at 40, 45, 55 for millions of people and as long as they keep grinding and doing their best, CREATION will align with their dreams and it comes to fruition............ again, Tough times never last but tough people do ~ Robert Schuller

What of people like me who had no job AND A WIFE AND KIDS for 18 MONTHS at 43-44 years old?

At least a single man only had himself to worry about.....I didn't kill myself, I later got a job and continued life.
