You are referring to a CT scan not MRI. There is no radiation from MRI . The principal is based on resonance with the proton in the water molecule of the body.
The other thing you referred to as ink is called contrast. There are basically two types, barium and iodine. It is based on the high molecular weight of those elements which is much more than water. Thus producing differential attenuation .
Lastly, radiation no surplus for room. Electromagnetic waves in the case of CT scan travel at the speed of light. They do not linger after the exposure. It is only during active exposure that the room is radioactive. After that, nothing anymore, so no need to fear.
