Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Renames Tai Solarin University in Honour of Late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona

Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced the renaming of Tai Solarin College of Education to Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Science and Technology.

The announcement was made during the 8th Day Fidau prayer held in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON. The governor said the change is in recognition of the monarch’s enduring legacy and contributions to education and national development.

As in ehn. Rename raise to power 2. It's like this is the season. After running out of what to rename, the Governor started renaming what has been renamed in the past. Smh.

The school was originally Ogun State College of Education and was renamed after Late Tai Solarin but now renamed again. Products of same school with different names in less than few years. Completely unacceptable.

Tai Solarin who lived and died for Education now being replaced. This will be reversed some day too. I pity people attending weak institution schools like this.

If you are very good and study hard, honestly, you should have no business with schools like this.

Please note that the Tai Solarin College of Education, TASCE, has been disarticulated from the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) although they are still in same location.

Seun, you need to deal with the OP for deliberately misinforming Nairalanders.

Tai Solarin University is different from Tai Solarin college of education. Tai Solarin University of Education at Ijagun is not the same as Tai Solarin college of education, they are two different institution.

At least they compensate the school by upgrading it from college of education to college of science and technology, so i believe there won't be any uproar because all settlement have been duly observed

I think there is a secret oath these politicians have taken to keep attacking education. To make it worse, some of them have questionable character or are not showing good leadership in education, that's why they are attacking it by renaming all our higher institutions. The Senate should pass a bill banning Governors and Presidents from doing this please, it is urgent.
