I knew it was a lie when I saw the news on social media, creating new states is not that easy, everybody will be carried along

Though I support the creation of new states in Nigeria but not this many, it will address the issue of marginalization facing ethnic minorities but it won't solve our problems

For example you have about 4 different tribes in Benue state alone, Tiv is the fourth largest tribe in Nigeria and you put them with igede, idoma and Agatu

Apa-Agba state will address this issue, there's even agitations among the igedes to join their brothers in Cross rivers for Ogoja state to avoid another unpleasant story

Creation of new new states is not even the problem Right now.
Nigeria is a failed State, there are so many things that needs to be corrected for Nigeria to be on path, not new states.

I knew it must be fake all along. It is high time we do something about all these bloggers and reporters of unfounded reports. They are misleading millions of people everyday.

Nigeria is barely about the size of Texas, a state in the US.

It's a complete loss of priority to be considering state creation at this point

Should the country even entertain such thoughts as a creation of new states with the current mess we're in atm or should be looking for ways to firm up what we have and ensure proper use of resources currently available. Creation of new states will further balloon the country's wage bill as well as give more polithiefcians more platforms to steal through.

All states are parasitic. Only Lagos and Kano can in theory survive on their own. In pracitice, they also rely heavily on oil money sharing.

The thing is, states have low tax to gdp ratios, and also have low industrial levels. That means they rely more on sharing from Abuja.

What the Nigerian Constitution Says About State Creation

Does Nigeria need new states with current performances of the already created ones and financial standing of the country or just to create political offices for the politicians and some people. If fg has money to accommodate new states then they should return both pms and foreign exchange subsidies, those are beneficiary to Nigerians than creating more states.
