2027: APC Hits PDP Over ‘bad Market’ Tag On Tinubu by Bobloco(op): 3:22pm On Jul 22, 2025
The Peoples Democratic Party has described President Bola Tinubu as an unfit option, asserting that no patriotic Nigerian will back his re-election bid in the 2027 presidential race.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Monday, asserted that the party is the only one with the capacity to defeat President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.

In response, the All Progressives Congress Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, stated that the PDP is currently in the intensive care unit and, therefore, unqualified to make any credible political judgment.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH, Ibrahim asserted that President Tinubu has the backing of patriotic Nigerians, having restored their hope through meaningful reforms, and expressed confidence that Nigerians will stand by him in 2027.

Ologunagba emphasised that the PDP remains solid despite the noise surrounding defections, stressing that the true strength of the party lies in the loyalty of its members.

PDP Publicity Secretary stated, “The PDP is the only party that can unseat the APC. We have the support, the base, and a national spread. There is no community without PDP members, because it is truly the people’s party. Nigerians are eager for the PDP’s return.

“With the APC’s numerous failures, I can confidently say that no patriotic Nigerian, group, or political party will support Tinubu in 2027. It is clear that President Bola Tinubu is a bad market. So, no one, whether individual or group, who is experiencing what we’re all going through, will vote for Tinubu.

“President Tinubu, as they say in the local parlance, is a bad market — don’t touch it. So come 2027, no one — individual, group, or party—who is feeling what you and I feel, who is seeing the insecurity, the collapsed economy, and the general hardship—will vote for Tinubu.”

Addressing the recent defection of some of its members to the APC and the newly formed coalition under the African Democratic Congress, Ologunagba stated that, “Our party is organic and formidable. It is important to make it clear that the people who make up the party are not defecting.

“They are not defecting because of hunger or insecurity. The people who form the bulk of our party, as well as Nigerians who are apolitical, look up to the PDP. So, they are not defecting.

“They are not leaving because of hunger or insecurity. Just two days ago, our Anambra State candidate was attacked here in Abuja. This highlights the level of insecurity in the country under this rudderless and irresponsible APC government, which is completely insensitive.

“This is a government that asks people to fast while it feasts. So, the people, the backbone of our party and even Nigerians who are apolitical, still look up to the PDP.”

He further stated that all organs of the party, including the Board of Trustees, the Governors’ Forum, the National Working Committee, National Assembly members, and other party structures, are collaborating closely to build a more formidable party capable of delivering new leadership and renewed hope to Nigerians.

Commenting on the Lagos State Local Government elections held on July 12, Ologunagba urged Nigerians to see past the excitement, propaganda, and noise, stating that if the APC truly had the strength it claims, the results of the elections in Lagos would have told a different story.

He continued, “One of their own leaders admitted that the people didn’t vote for them. That was in Lagos — Tinubu’s stronghold.

“This silent vote of no confidence speaks volumes. Only 6% of registered voters participated. This shows APC has been rejected. In 2027, it will not be about writing results; it will be about the people speaking out with their votes — and they will vote the APC out.”

Ologunagba stated that the PDP stands apart from the APC and other political parties because it embraces differing opinions without hostility or division.

He stated, “This is why the PDP is different. We have strong organs and institutions. We welcome debate and contestation of ideas. We accept disagreement without being disagreeable. That is how we keep recalibrating, reconnecting with the people just as our name says: Peoples Democratic Party.”

Reacting on behalf of the APC, Ibrahim compared the PDP to a mentally unstable individual who cannot comment on insanity.

The APC Director stated, “The insane cannot talk about insanity. You see, the PDP is in the intensive care unit of the hospital at the moment; it is not in a position to even assess the mental sanity or market value of any product. Under normal circumstances, a patient is not fit to talk about the state of health of another person.

“As we speak today, the APC is under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The APC is the largest and strongest party in Africa. As we speak, the APC is more united under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu than it was before.

“As it stands today, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is providing the leadership the country desires, and he has renewed the hope of Nigerians, pulling the country toward prosperity. And millions of patriotic Nigerians will support him come 2027.

“Can the PDP say the same about itself before talking about others? Any person or party that cannot manage its own affairs today is in no position to speak about the affairs of another tomorrow. That is exactly the fate of the PDP as we speak.”

2027 will be the worst election, ever!

If you know what APC is planning for the country 2027, you’ll join hands fully with opposition and remove them from office. That party needs to be labeled a cult group and disbanded!

One of the major factors affecting ADC is that, they lack brainiacs and eloquent resources.

Just look at the gibberish a whole National publicity secretary composed.

Portable can do better than this.

Who are those in the opposition?
Former Pdp and former Apc.

The fact that an Elrufai, Atiku and Obi are calling themselves opposition and you're swallowing it shows that they don't rate you and you too no rate yourself.
Re: 2027: APC Hits PDP Over ‘bad Market’ Tag On Tinubu by WriterX(m): 4:45pm On Jul 22, 2025
The statement by APC’s Bala Ibrahim, in response to the PDP’s criticism, is not only riddled with political gaslighting, it’s a shameless attempt to cover APC’s catastrophic record with propaganda. Claiming the PDP is in “intensive care” while APC presides over a country suffocating under economic hardship is the height of irony. Nigerians today are not merely frustrated — they are hungry, angry, unemployed, and unsafe — all under the APC-led government that promised “renewed hope” but has instead delivered widespread hopelessness.

To assert that Tinubu is “restoring hope” is a cruel joke when fuel prices have tripled, inflation is out of control, food has become a luxury, and the naira has become one of the world’s worst-performing currencies. There is nothing hopeful about the daily reality of Nigerians who can no longer afford to go to work, eat well, or pay their children’s school fees. If this is the “hope” Bala Ibrahim refers to, then the APC has lost touch with the very people it claims to serve.

While the PDP has its own chequered history, it governed during a time when the naira was stronger, inflation was more stable, and food was affordable. For APC to mock the PDP’s credibility, yet constantly respond to its statements with this much energy, shows that they still see the PDP as a serious threat. It’s telling that the same APC that claims PDP is dead feels the need to shout down every criticism it makes — clearly, the PDP is not as irrelevant as they wish.

Moreover, pointing to defections from PDP while ignoring the daily defections into and out of APC exposes their selective memory. The truth is that party loyalty in Nigeria is often transactional, and no party — including APC — is immune to internal rot. What Nigerians are judging now is not which party says the right things, but which party has done the least damage. And by all objective metrics, the APC government has failed in virtually every index of governance.

Using the Lagos local government elections as an example, Ologunagba rightly pointed out that only 6% of registered voters turned out — a massive vote of no confidence. If Tinubu and the APC are truly popular, why are voters refusing to show up in his stronghold? This silent protest from the electorate speaks louder than all the noise from APC’s spokespersons.

Bala Ibrahim’s comparison of the PDP to a mentally ill patient is beneath the dignity of political discourse. When a party resorts to mental health slurs instead of factual rebuttals, it shows they’ve run out of substance. This type of childish name-calling only reveals the moral and intellectual poverty of APC’s current defense strategy.

The claim that APC is “the largest party in Africa” is an empty boast when its leadership cannot pay salaries, maintain hospitals, control inflation, or reduce insecurity. Size means nothing when millions of Nigerians under your rule are starving and scared. Leadership is measured by performance, not by slogans.

In reality, APC under Tinubu has become a classic “bad market,” as the PDP stated — overpriced, overhyped, and under-delivering. The hardship Nigerians face daily has nothing to do with party loyalty and everything to do with survival. Come 2027, they will not vote for propaganda or metaphors. They will vote based on their stomachs, their pain, and their anger.

If APC wants to defend Tinubu, let them do so with facts, figures, and impact — not playground insults and revisionist rhetoric. Until then, their loud rebuttals only highlight their fear that the Nigerian people have had enough.

Let them continue, We are watching.

Something tells me that APC would turn Nigeria around for the better. The reforms are gradually working but more work should be done on bringing down inflation and improving the security of lives.

The police should engage residents , community leaders as informants. There should be easy and direct communication between them such that whenever there is any threat , police are informed in time.

Some locals in the communities but working for the police must be equipped with ammunitions and disguised as normal civilians to deceive the bandits or bad elements in order to check their operations

This Nigeria must be better for all by God's grace

The issue there is not like APC is not making impacts, but for dehumanizing Goodluck, carrying a coffin and saying he is an ineffectual Buffon, the worst President Nigeria ever had and that with the emergence of APC, that Dollar price, fuel price, food , even education will be free...

You can't make such statements and begin to fail from your first trial , to the point that APC is no longer seeing the masses as the carriers of their position but as people they have to subdue because they are in Power....

The same Masses that removed PDP and gave them all their hopes, they are now the same people they are using lies and propaganda to manipulate...

If APC starts working, Obideints will vote them to continue but there is nothing to show....
