And multi dimensional poverty is still hitting the country from all angleshuh
In 2025, South Sudan is projected to have the highest multidimensional poverty rate in Africa, followed by Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, and the Central African Republic. These nations are characterized by widespread poverty, with large portions of their populations experiencing deprivation across multiple dimensions like health, education, and living standards.

Multiple European nations experience multidimensional poverty. While the overall poverty rates in Europe are lower than in many other parts of the world, multidimensional poverty, which considers factors beyond income, still affects a significant number of people.

That is what you want and it might happen to your clan and family.
Most of us sane Nigerians pray for the best.

Most of these nations except, maybe Ethiopia, are not even up to half of Nigeria's population.

In 2025, the ten African nations with the highest multidimensional poverty are: Chad, Central African Republic, Madagascar, Mali, Guinea, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These countries face severe challenges in multiple dimensions of well-being, including health, education, and living standards.

Good news but it’s not new.

https://businessday.ng/business-economy/article/nigerias-external-reserves-down-by-3-5bn-in-6-months/?amp

Reserves were down some weeks back but are now back up.

Let’s celebrate at $50 billion, now that’s ground breaking, vis-a-vis the quantity of USD that has been freed by virtue of Dangote’s refinery, lower purchasing power and increased remittances from abroad.

In general 99.99% of people have no idea what foreign reserves are
They hear the word reserves and think they are some kind of saving or that they belong to government both assumptions are false

They reflect the capacity of the CBN to take back Naira in exchange for dollars

This is important to any foreign investor entering Nigeria who wants to know they can exit whenever they wish

If they want to leave and cannot buy dollars from the CBN They talk of trapped funds.

So it is not a bad thing but it does not mean what many assume it means

It generally means AT THAT POINT we export more than we import or importers rely less on the CBN
Because of the dynamic nature of import export it can change drastically every month

Bear in mind government also BUYS dollars from the CBN to service debt. If and when that happens reserves goes down

In summary it is not a fund somewhere that. government can access even government has to pay when it needs dollars

Re: External Reserves Hit $40.1 Billion In July 2025 – Cardoso by kolente: 6:14pm On Jul 22, 2025
You dont need to go too far, its the gross figure and not the net figure.

Net Reserves is the unencumbered figure which is available for the defense of the currency against the dollar and imports too.

$40B is the total including our encumbered amounts for our SWAP deals and Foreign loans, recall that $3B was deducted between Jan-June (H1) when the Iran-Isreal conflict broke out to defend the naira.

[quote author=Hellisreal70 post=136190854]Good but please can you tell us what the external debt nigeria is owning foreign countries hit?[/quoteOur debt is minimal when compared to a nation like South Africa which debt is 5 times that of Nigeria.
Every nation borrows including USA and China.

Stop borrowing, hahahaha!
APC keep reporting the external reserve to deceive it's gullible supporters but hides the net reserve with is more important. The external reserve is like saying I have N100 in my bank account but owing a N99 debt giving me a net reserve of N1. This means that, once I pay my debts. I will borrow again to survive.

This is Best of Economic News in recent times in Nigeria 👏👏👍.
The CBN MUST KEEP IT UP- FOR MANY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES HAVE TERRIBLE FOREIGN RESERVES THAT CAN'T MARCH THE DOLLAR 💰 EXCHANGE.
BUT IMAGINE INDIA HAVING RESERVES OF $OVER $500BILLIONS, COMPARED TO OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES - WITH LOWER CUMULATIVE RESERVES A BIG DIFFERENCE INDEED!• CBN SHOULD ALSO RESIST THE WASTEFUL SPENDING BY POLITICIANS - who hardly cares about the Masses,as they usually dip the hands in the Cookie 🍪 Jar- without blinking an eye 👁️.
•Our Politicians ( the Executive and Legislatures) - •both at Federal and States Level are Wasters of Our Reasources, since the Shehu Sagari- Alh Dikko Era , and Consequently to Emiefiele Free Stealing - where NTrillions of Ways and Means Accounts Can't Be Accounted For+ NBillions of Anchor 🔱 Borrowers Farmers Money 🤑 and that has brought us to this Poverty Level= Corruption!
We ought have done Better.

God bless His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)

Yesterday was about the tremendous all time high of the Nigerian stock exchange, and today, it’s about out external reserve hitting a high.

Haters will still not commend the great administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Having a leader like His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is the best thing that can happen to any nation.

God bless His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)!
You people should quit propaganda naaaa. The reason for the high in stock market is easy to explain. It is due to high liquidity in the market following the reduction in Tbills rates, which has led the guys to port to the stock market. That is why you are seeing the high returns. It only favors portfolio investors. The real investors who will build factories are not coming in, that is where the common man feels the impact.

You owe ot to your conscience to be truthful to people and avoid misleading them.

There is really no impact. The value of the naira is still underperforming so this propaganda is it necessary?
