Re: New Dog by MasterTeeUSA: 8:14pm On Jul 22, 2025
If you can live inside a cage, then get the dog a cage. If you can't imagine being in a cage, then allow the dog to breathe. Get a dog mat and train the dog just like you would do a baby...we don't put babies inside the cage, do we?

Common sense should tell you that you should go for the biggest cage, it's a large breed dog, and sooner than later, it would outgrow any cage that's not very big
Common sense should tell you Lhasa are small breeds
Re: New Dog by deltateam: 8:26pm On Jul 22, 2025
3 Looks okay but then does Lhasa actually need a cage?

Those I know leave it freely in the home but it could be a handful because some of them have temper like one on Tiktok called Nickie.
cheesy

For Lhasa Apso, go for size 2 or 3.

Happy time with your baby.

Why a cage? Why not get it a doggy bed in that corner of the room or living room where it can lie down and stuff? huh

The dog doesn't need the cage if it's your pet, a leash will do
Re: New Dog by Cholls(m): 8:43pm On Jul 22, 2025
My brother try Johnny Cage
Re: New Dog by AngelahFlo(m): 8:51pm On Jul 22, 2025
Lhasa breeds are usually small and medium sized. They are "parlor dogs" so I suggest cage size 2 or 3. Don't go for 4 as your dog won't grow beyond the size of a mature Bingo (local street dog)
They are smart, intelligent and can be very playful and mischievous.
Personally I don't like "Parlor dogs"
I like the Pit bull, Doberman, Alaskan Shepherds, German Shepherd and Rottweilers. Dogs that will scare by their very appearance not these cute cuddlies.

Na correct dog
Re: New Dog by histemple: 9:04pm On Jul 22, 2025
Just buy one that is big enough to accommodate both of you. This specie of dog likes company a lot.

Why cage the dog? Are you raising him for meat or something that you need to cage and maybe fatten him for? undecided

Re: New Dog by SeriouslySense(m): 9:29pm On Jul 22, 2025
Put the dog in the best place where it is also free. As a baby you want to treat the dog in the bests way, for its mental growth also. smiley
Re: New Dog by CloudResident(m): 9:29pm On Jul 22, 2025
it's most probably a mixed breed.
However it's a beautiful puppy.

Putting it in a cage would limit it's freedom.
Dogs such as this do well with constant closeness to humans, affording you the opportunity to take through daily trainings and commands.
Please keep it well.

You are right, Dog is a social animal it will need human presence and interactions and not prolonged isolation

I suggest you tear foundation and build a duplex for the dog.
Re: New Dog by Originalsly: 10:02pm On Jul 22, 2025
Why must it be in a cage? Explain if you can. or is it because they are selling cages you must buy?
Re: New Dog by CaseSensitive(m): 10:04pm On Jul 22, 2025

Re: New Dog by bada007(op): 10:06pm On Jul 22, 2025
I think everyone is getting this wrong i wanna protect my dog not cage him all the time this small and cute breeds are susceptible to theft so he would be free most of the time just when am not around and i want to control his feeding not just let anyone feed him anything

Understandable but I would suggest something like a play pen instead of a cage. A caged puppy will have behavioural and psychological issues that you can't reverse no matter how well you train the dog.
