They are harmless bird.
I meet them on daily while working at height, they have neither attacked me or whosoever... Several occasions I do take pictures of their chicks and their green eggs.

There's documentary on them on natgeo wild.
They are very intelligent and recognize faces, pass word around their community and revenge when hurt as is rightly stated here.
They also reward acts of kindness by bringing gifts to people. Pebbles, feathers and seemingly useless things but their way of showing appreciation.
It's only in a black man's country things not understood is demonized instead of studying to understand.
winch dey run documentary so them go fit dey legal.... NA lie.... if dey doubt say winch dey turn bird..... you just come Lagos.. NA normal phenomenon

Ahhh this bird grin

We call it Pastor Bird in my village because of its white patch around its neck.
I believe it's a local version of Crow or maybe Raven I don't know but truly that bird is very intelligent.

TRUE STORY

There was a time I did something very bad at home and needed to dodge from my daddy for the day, it was a Saturday and since I couldn't escape out the front door through the gate I decided to climb the manhole and go to the rooftop where we keep our water (geepee) tank.

I sneaked up there without any of my siblings knowing as I didn't want anybody 'kobalizing' me wink , I got up on the platform where the tank was and proceeded to hide there till the family thought I had escaped out the compound one way or the other.

I hadn't stayed there for up to 30mins before one of these pastor birds was flying overhead and spotted me and began making very loud 'Caw - Caw - Caw' sounds . . . It was pissing me off because it just kept circling overhead and making the noises. I will wave my hands wildly at it to shoo it off and it will fly to a neighbors roof and perch. When I bent back down to hide it will fly over me again and start making its 'Caw - Caw - Caw' noise and I will start looking for how to pursue it away again by flailing my hands wildly.

This went on back and forth for like 1 hours and then it flew away and I was Happy thinking it had gone for good . . . Only for it to return in another 10mins with 4 of its buddies angry

Let's just say, my dad later caught me on top the roof and brought me down and gave me the beating of my life that day.

Funny thing is, for one week after that day these same birds were always coming to my compound to check on me to see if I was available for another round of whatever 'play' they thought I was playing with them undecided

Very bad and stubborn things 😔
He actually thought you were in danger, maybe trap and needed help. It was calling for help for you

Every species of creation has a language of communication and a mode of expression; even plants.
To other species that do not understand or can not relate to the medium used by other species, it's purely extraordinary.
But in truth, other species also view what we human do as weird, supernatural, magical or miraculous.

Crow is arguably the most intelligent bird. So sometimes when they behave we think it's an evil act. Africans and mumu na 5&6 😂... Thank God for the internet though. It have saved us from a huge mess

Crows are among the top 5 smartest animals in the world, go check out the olddanny on TikTok and watch his analysis about crow birds, they don’t forgive, once you hurt or do anything bad against a crow, they will never ever forgive you, they pass your bad deed to others and they will find you and hunt you

No it actually thought I was a thief or something because that flight it was making was a usual route for it and all the times it had been flying over our roof it had never come across a human bent down low hiding on that roof so seeing me that very day was something new and unusual for it.

That's why it was warning ⚠️ everyone and everything around of my presence there. Assuming I had a weapon or maybe stones or a catapult I would have dealt with it but alas I only had my hands and I couldn't scream and shout at it because it would also give away my position cry the straw that broke the camels back was when they became 5 in number dive-bombing me repeatedly cry

That bird just messed me up that day and worse it a spoiled my perfectly good hiding spot forever and I couldn't dodge there anymore because that's the first place my people will go to search for me whenever I did something bad and was missing undecided

Very terrible birds angry

They are not bad ooo. They just came back to check on your health. No wonder one of the birds was asking me at Ojota last week if I know 'SeeWahalaa" I said no but it was obvious the bird did not believe me as one of the buddy stared at me like, 'oga you suppose know am'.
They are still out there looking for you to continue what you started ooo grin grin grin
