When I was in 300 and 400 level I met egbons wey be say their matric number start with the year I was still in junior secondary school coming to join us to write exams wey dem get missing script long years before we gained admission.

One of my OGs in school finished graduated as a doctor only for them to tell him that he could not be inducted because there was an irregularity in his WAEC result. I was a few years behind him. He had received all the training a medical student was expected to have and had passed all the required exams. This guy begged until i got to final year and i did my internship and left the place but got no reprieve.

Over 6 years wasted just like that.

First of all, who ordered Prostate ultrasound for a woman? Hehehe.

On a more serious note, that is Grade 1 renal parenchymal disease and by itself it is a non-specific finding and not very alarming to be honest.
The grade 1 hyperechogenicity should be investigated further with blood tests (FBE, U/E, Iron studies, LFT, Urinalysis, Inflammatory markers e.t.c) but it might not be the course of her severe pain.


Has she seen a doctor or did she just go get this ultrasound herself. She needs to be properly assessed and examined to determine if this ultrasound is the appropriate test to carry out.


I would be thinking of sending her for those blood tests and possibly a CT scan because this ultrasound does not satisfactorily explain her pain.

How old is she? Whereabouts EXACTLY in the abdomen is this pain? If she has not seen a doctor, she should see one urgently.

I think she should be in her early 30’s. The pain is all over her body, she request massage in sometimes waist, back, neck and chest. Need I also add that she can’t pee and a tube has been inserted. Some part of her body is swollen too.

I am concerned because her parents took her to Awka this morning because a doctor was recommended there. A doctor that wants to send medication to them without carrying out his own test. Omoo!!
