I import cars from the US and Canada therefore pay duties, in 2023 alone duty was increased three good times and that's why an ordinary 2023 Corolla is selling for 8m today.

To you, it got worse because Tinubu allowed the true reflection of the value of our currency than the arbitrage and unsustainable old system. We know how hectic it was getting FX to import goods for ordinary citizens while the super rich bribed their way getting cheaper dollars than you and I. You want Govt to slash import duties to 50% , that's the most ridiculous thing I have heard from an unpatriotic element this year.

Govt granted waiver on paper but it was never implemented on the portal.
I work directly on those desk and trade.
Till the time elapsed. It was never implemented.
Cars and almost every tangible thing was made expensive.
I'm.not here to say who to blame.
Anybody is free not to use their eyes and brain. I won't do that for any one.
But pls take the issue of waiver out.
We received circular but nothing was reflecting.
