Corruption personified. Same NNPCL overseeing four public refineries or another?
At least clap for this achievement. these are the structural regeneration that is needed to fix Nigeria.
Our crude production dropped to below 1million barrels per day for some period under President Buhari.
To now see elements of that government converging under ADC is a big slap on Nigerians

What part of the reported profit is from the revamped refineries that have been operating since last 10 years huh

Calbarian:
Jul 30, 2015

SUPPLY from local refineries have received a major boost as the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries have begun preliminary production following a successful re-streaming after a nine-month phased rehabilitation exercise conducted by its in-house engineers and technicians.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in a statement yesterday in Abuja said that both plants have commenced preliminary production of petroleum products after successful test-runs, noting that while Port Harcourt Refinery Company PHRC, is ramping up its operation to about 60 percent of its 210, 000 barrels per day name plate capacity, Warri Refinery Petroleum Company WRPC, production is projected to hit 80 percent of its installed 125, 000 bpd capacity.

Meanwhile, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has closed down 22 filling stations in Abuja and environs for undue profiteering. 19 of them were sealed for selling above N87.00 per litre, while two were shut down for diversion of petroleum products and one was caught grossly under-dispensing and selling products massively in jerry cans.
DPR stated that the stations would remain sealed for at least one month in addition to forfeiting their bridging claims as directed by the Federal Government.

NNPC added that the Port Harcourt Refinery is projected to boost the nation’s local refining capacity with a product yield of 5million litres of petrol per day while WRPC would contribute 3.5 million litres of petrol to local refining capacity.

First of, 6trillion in 5months which is an average of 1.2trillion per month, which is a paltry sum, Lagos state's budget is 3.3 trillion, Rivers State budget is 1.4 trillion which totals 4.7trillion. That's 4.7 trillion for only two states out of 36 states plus FCT. How far could 6trillion go round?. This is just using budget as an example.
Sadly, some people are misrepresenting the $20billion MTEF loan appropriation. The fact is, it is a loan framework, it is not an actual loan. It's a proposal for both the FG and the states within the time period.. But you're quick to scream Tinubu, not knowing it covers your respective states as well. Crucially, the MTEF spreads over a two year period from 2025-2027. The loan is not mandatory or compulsory to be exhausted either.

The leading elements of ADC coalition are deregulation and privatisation policy proponents of capitalist PDP. The ones who made our country prosperous for 16 years before ebilokan made his fellow southerner Jonathan a one term president in favour of his expired northerner Buhari.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

This isn't an achievement in anyway. They dont extract crude nor can they manage the theft of crude. Just an overrated accounting office churning out figures in exchange for monumental corruption and incompetence. Haba.

It’s over a decade since your corruption-fighting paymasters have been in power. Why have they failed to lock up those involved in your allegations all these years, if they are not worse rogues, keen to make distracting noise to cover up their own stealing?

Deregulation and privatisation capitalist PDP leaders sold the refineries before Yar’Adua reversed the sales.

Moreover, can there be any politician more deserving of jail time than ebilokan, whose Lagos master plan raised budget 75 times in the past 26 years but no improvement in government services and public utilities?

Can you compare that with the achievements of Jakande in just four years? Why would Buhari lock up Jakande in 1984 for corruption but hand over to ebilokan 39 years later? Any ideahuh

Splashme:
The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

tossing four notes behind for your colleague to pick isnt stealing. Lol. Especially when everyone except the colleage gets asked about it. Lol.
You keep seeking my attention for a response. I responded earlier but the Nazis banned me. If I get banned again too bad.

But I will respond again. There are different types of stealing. Shortchanging people is stealing, taking bribes is stealing. Shortchanging your customers is stealing. Selling fake or expired products is stealing. Getting paid for something you didn’t do is stealing. Paying for something and getting something else is stealing. The average Nigerian in the course of his everyday life engages in some form of theft or another. That’s why Nigerians are such a stressful people to deal with.

He who can’t be faithful in the little cannot be faithful in the large.

In my experience, in the course of interaction with a Nigerian, 90% will steal from you. Therefore statistically when you encounter a Nigerian, you are encountering a thief. Again theft is not just about money. As a Nigerian the default mode is to assume you are about to be stolen from. I have lived in a few countries and encountered many nationalities. Nigerians are the only people with whom you can’t let your guard down with anybody. There are thieves elsewhere, but that experience where the default mode is trust no one only happens with NIgerians

The average Nigerian simply hasn’t access to steal like the politicians or govt officials they complain about.

A Nigerian is assumed a thief unreliable and of dubious character until he proves otherwise. Deep down you know this to be true. A Nigerian does not even know he is a thief because our society has institutionalized (for want of a better word) the behaviors of a thief and it is second nature, we don’t even know it is wrong!

The societies you japa to function because there is trust. There is a reason why online services in Nigeria are pay on delivery.

We call it being sharp, being streetwise, etc but it’s theft!
