I want this post to get to the appropriate office or the Minister of Interior. The way and manner the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) is refusing to print driver's license has become a concern. I thought I was the only one suffering this issues until i visited FRSC office in Wuse, Abuja to complain of my driver's license not printed for over 11 months of capturing.

I was told by a Road safety officer that since the appointment of the current Marshall officer Shehu Mohammed, all drivers licenses are printed only in Abuja making it very difficult to meet demand. They said as at today 23rd July, 2025, they have over 5 million license yet to be printed. In fact, as at today, no printing machine is working.

The logic is simple, anyone that apply for 3 years drivers license, it ll take them 1 year to print while you are force to make another payment in a short time. Does this make any sense?

A visit to one of the motor park in Abuja and Lagos to take census on drivers having their driver's license, it was discovered that 80% of the drivers are with temporary paper sheet which they use for over 15 months.

Consequently, this issue is affecting those who travel out for driver license exchange. A research also revealed that most people who has renewed their license for over 6 months wishing to exchange their license so that they obtain their host country license have not been able to do so as the foreign country do not accept paper temporary license.

I think it is high time the Corp Marshall Shehu to decentralize the printing of the license immediately. The money voted for procurement of machine have been pocketed.

A lot of people have now resulted in bribing FRSC officers to push their applications forward. This must stop!!

Lagos should have been the first place to print driver's license. The backlog is too much. Let say the truth. How can only one machine be printing a whole country?

My DL was 5 years,they gave me temporary card which is valid for 2 months until they call me for the permanent card will still be using the temporary card cos don't have strength for their office wahala again.

The issue now is that there is only one machine available for the whole country which is in Abuja. Does that make sense?
