NIDCOM Condemns Killing Of Nigerians In South Africa, Demands Justice by RightChannel(op): 8:02pm On Jul 23, 2025
The Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has strongly condemned the killing of two Nigerian traders in South Africa, describing the incident as senseless, barbaric, and unacceptable.

The two victims, identified simply as Austin and Ayo, were reportedly shot dead at close range by masked gunmen in Durban.

According to unconfirmed reports, the attackers stormed Austin’s office and opened fire, killing both men on the spot.

In a statement by NIDCOM’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa said the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa is already looking into the matter.

She urged the South African authorities to launch a thorough investigation and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, described the killing of two Nigerian Traders in South Africa by unknown gunmen as intolerable and senseless, with a call to fish out the culprits.

“She said the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa is looking into the matter.

Dabiri-Erewa said this latest unprovoked killing is condemnable and barbaric, calling on South African authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and expose the perpetrators, ” the statement partly read.

Balogun said she lamented the non-implementation of the early warning mechanisms earlier agreed upon by both countries to prevent such incidents, stressing the need for South Africa to take the arrangement seriously.

She recalled that the early warning mechanism put in place by both countries to prevent such killings is yet to be implemented by South Africa,” the statement added.

While extending condolences to the families of the deceased, Dabiri-Erewa assured them that every effort would be made to ensure justice is served.

Amid rising tension among members of the Nigerian community in South Africa, the NIDCOM boss appealed for calm and urged Nigerians not to take the law into their own hands.

Following tension rising amongst the Nigerian community in South Africa, Dabiri-Erewa has appealed for calm and urged Nigerians not to take laws into their hands while awaiting the outcome of the investigations by the South African police authorities.

She added that the Acting Nigerian High Commissioner in South Africa has demanded a thorough and fair investigation into the incident, ” the statement stated.

Black South Africa will experience what no black nation has experienced. Their slavery will know no bound and chaos will ensue their collective existence.

They are smiling while others are crying.

TheNobleProphet:
South Africans are primitive and extremely ungrateful humans who ought to be kept in isolation because of their malevolent ways especially towards fellow Africans!

In all honesty, if not for Nigeria that GOD used to rescue them, South Africans would have still been in serious bondage!

But see how they chose to pay us back!

Quite unfortunate!
LMAO. Typical. Where does it say that these people were killed by South Africans? grin.

Only one of them is Zulu though grin.

The Zulu KING is half Swati ( his mother was from the Swati kingdom in Swaziland).

The king of Eswatini is a Swazi or Swati man not Zulu. They are both of Nguni heritage though. wink

The Zulu king is younger .

That's not necessarily a Zulu shield though ,almost all SA tribes use that shield, but it's more popular among the Zulus in today's SA.

I don't understand what you're asking. What languages will they speak if not their respective tribal languages grin. Zulu king speaks Zulu ( and probably his mother's language as well ). Mswati will obviously speak SiSwati but understands Zulu.

Nguni languages (isiZulu, isiXhosa, isiSwati, and isiNdebele) share significant similarities due to their common origin and close relationship, including grammatical structures and vocabulary.

Zulus and Swati people intermarry a lot ,especially their royal and elite families.

Ndebele Zim, Isiswati Eswatini and IsiZulu Mzansi are one of the same divided by borders.

Just see the utilisation of the word Isi for both Zulu and Swati.

Now wat does Isi mean?

Because we also use the word Isi, like Isialangwa which translate headland ngwa.

Isi =singular noun prefix
Ama= plural noun prefix
AmaZulu ,AmaSwati etc

AmaNdebele in Zim broke away( absconded from Zulu-land ) way before there were borders 😅. They were the bad seeds ,traitors and cowards grin grin. They were then knacked by Shonas over there ...meaning they are now partially strangers grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Thank goodness for the borders 😅😅

Anyways ,even your Igbo mom and dad had a common ancestor at some point grin grin.

Let's let old dogs lie abeg grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin.

All our papas made choices , Mzilikazi chose Zim for them grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

There is nothing wrong at all in what our female soccer players did. Sport is meant to unite us. Mind you, how are you sure those guys were not killed by fellow Nigerians.
