Our false sense of morality is sickening! Tell me why a university will be posting such rules but will not post rules against their lecturers who demand for favours from female students! These are adults you are trying to control |

ravensckar:In as much as the current rules may seem stringent, we must acknowledge that the Gen Z era has played a role in necessitating them. The founding fathers envisioned an institution where disciplined, intelligent, and future-ready leaders would be nurtured. For many years, the culture of discipline, academic excellence, and purposeful activism (aluta) was deeply rooted in the minds of all OAU students. This strong foundation produced alumni who consistently excel and remain outstanding in every sphere of life - even today. Unfortunately, this culture is gradually fading, and the university's reputation seems to decline daily due to tolerated indiscipline - both from students and, at times, lecturers. It is time for the university to return to its founding principles. The rules may need adjustments to reflect present-day realities, but discipline must never be compromised. Rules should be firm and enforced to realign the current generation with the core values that made us great. We have traditions. We do not wake our fathers with sliding tackles. Of the greatest gbogbo Proudly Great Ife. For Learning and Culture. |

Karleb:Church is a public place you enter without examination and rules.university community is different from that. Your dude would no not enter Deeper Life, Mountain of Fire, Apostolic Faith like that and be comfortable. He would not try it in any mosque. See, university is not a place for fashion exhibition, it is a place for learning. When you want to do fashion parade or a model, there is another place for that. In a fashion school, laboratories are not needed. In university, you are awarded certificates for learning, not for how beautiful, or muscular, crazier you are. University is a place for learning not fashion parade. |

China did ban onlyfans and even has a separate TikTok. So because you be adult you must behave like a clown abi? OAU motto is: for learning and culture. You can go to unilag if you don't like this. Y'all always forming woke but with no brains to decipher when to understand discipline. |

illicit:Ask the man what the weave is for and you will learn it's for spiritual reasons. In Nigeria, particularly among Yorubas, the only men that weave their hair are Sango (Amadioha) priests. Hair weaving for men was never for fashion just like leg chain for women could have deep meaning and origin. Never be swept away with any tide. |

Sagging is dead and gone. That was a partly Gen X and majorly Millennial fashion fad. Gen Zs don’t know anything about it and would find it outdated — the same way Millennials view platform shoes with huge Afros a sign of their parents’ time. |

Splendour99:there's discipline and their's overreach....terrorists and hired killers wear hijabs.....kidnappers own churches......the ones selling fake drugs and adulterer foodstuff aren't wearing skimpy dresses. .this is why those who shd help us build our country are refusing to come home...its a senseless world qe run in Nigeria and its annoying...The most religious parts of the US are the most backward in terms of development.... sensible people hate unnecssary barriers and rules.... the popular royal chief that butchered that innocent man who.came.to sleep in his hotel at ilesha the other day.....he doesnt wear tattoos or ear rings.... I swear I'm tired of ds very shallow narratives..the world has moved past these banal matters and we're still here...d quality of our conversations has really sunk |

Is this the same OAU I was decades ago? The like of Tony Fash, Lanre Adeleke, late George Iwilade etc fought to avoid situations like this in the future but sadly it’d eventually happened! I spit one everyone that I part of this nonsense. There are more pressing issues to deal with in our higher institutions of learning than these. |
