Nairalanders help me! How can I successfully get admission for MSc Accounting program in USA? I hold BSc Accounting with solid CGPA (4.13/5.00) from University of Maiduguri, Borno State. I reside in Lagos and I have one year work experience. What I need now is the path to secure the admission. Thank you as you contribute. |

Finance related courses never ceased to be in demand anywhere in the world. U.S. has alot of financial institutions. Do your research. |

What you need is to get into a Big 4 accounting firm like Ey, Delliote, Pwc or kpmg. After 2-3 years there apply for an MBA in the USA. Masters in accounting has little or no prospects in the USA . |

ifabulousroy:Do what Ednut has stated. An MBA and later a CPA qualification places you better in the job market. MSc Accounting is largely use_less in the grand scheme of things. Relevant certifications such as CFA, CAIA are preferred. |

Don't allow anybody discourage you or downplay your ambitions. Accounting is a very lucrative course anywhere in the world. In fact, there is a shortage of accountants according to CPA recent research. To excel in the accounting profession, you need to be Chartered or certified with technical skills. Since you are looking at the USA, CPA is your best bet. Go online and see salaries and job adverts of accountants in the US and the world(LinkedIn,indeed etc), you self go hail. Good luck sir and Shalom. ifabulousroy: |
