Here Is Why Peter Obi Can Win The ADC Presidential Primaries by Slimani(op): 6:13pm On Jul 25, 2025
I'm of the opinion that if Peter Obi contests the ADC primaries, and the delegates are screened transparently, he would come out victorious.

Now, Peter Obi's biggest political advantage has always been that people underrate him, but every time, he always comes up with a surprise and surmount almost every roadblock set in his way.

Last time, in the PDP, the people who know him closely in Anambra made sure that Obi never made it to the PDP primaries because they knew that if he made it to the primaries, his chances of winning was very high.

That is why Obi never talked about PDP zoning their ticket to the South or the South east for that matter. In fact, he never supported zoning in the PDP.

Here's what his ex-aide said about him in a recent article:

"I spoke to Omoba, Doyin Okupe, and said let us do southern campaign president. If it does not work, history will remember what we have done. I am grateful to Okupe for agreeing and we started asking candidates. Peter Obi never agreed."

And when the presidential ticket was open for all regions to contest, he never argued or made noise about it. He simply bought his presidential form and went to work.

The Anambra PDP caucus who knew Obi's political sagacity had to scheme him out by botching the delegate selection process and swapping the delegate list with fake names brought in by their allies.

And that was the main reason why Obi left the PDP.

Peter Obi has never been against contesting against other political heavyweights in a transparent primary even if monetized. He knows his onions, he knows his politics, he knows his money and he's willing to test it in the field.

Now in the ADC, Peter Obi is holding his cards close to his chest. His game towards 2027 has already begun in earnest. But many are still sleeping on him.

That is why in all his interviews, Obi has never talked about zoning the ADC presidential ticket to the South or Southeast.

He doesn't care about that.

All he has done is announce his interest in contesting the Presidential elections, and he knows that the game has already begun.

Even in the north, his allies have already started working for him.

In a recent article, ex-SGF, Babachir Lawal, who is a strong ally of Atiku has already noticed some political plays going on within the Adamawa ADC, and has raised an alarm.

Peter Obi is quietly going about putting his game plan to work and it's only a matter of time before we see what he's cooking towards the presidential ticket in 2027.

Underrate him at your own peril.

You nailed it. The PDP blocked Obi through delegate rigging because they feared his chances. In ADC, he’s playing it smart, no noise about zoning, just building networks quietly nationwide. His northern allies are already moving, showing he’s aiming beyond just the South.

This is what happens when you don't follow the news, you say things that make you sound like you are a liar.

1. Obi left the PDP in 2022 because he knew there was no way in hell he can win the primary.

2. Obi has multiple times called for the ticket to be zoned to the south (see attached image)

3. If the ADC Ticket is zoned to the south, Obi cannot beat Amaechi in a primary election.

Anybody thinking obi can win atiku and amaechi in a presidential primaries involving buying delegate is delusional. Pyo lost to amaechi at the apc primaries wike with all the money lost to atiku in pdp primary. Atiku knew pdp would zone to south that is why he left there. Peter obi should have spent time building labor party into a real ideological opposition party

Truth is, if Peter obi ever stopped so low to utilize bribes in winning any election of any kind (primaries included) I will immediately withdraw my support for him angry

I cannot be a party to such vice. That's the only reason I am head over heels in support of Peter Obi. Once he decides to stain his garment like those who are taking Nigeria backwards I will then know that we as a people have absolutely NO HOPE in this country called Nigeria

The attached image/headline says nothing. If you read the actual article, you'd see that the statement wasn't made by Obi himself. Probably an aide. Quote me with the actual statement made.

Nonsense.

Giringory can not and will never ever contest a party primary because he knows he will lose.

If you think I am lying , ask why he is running from Abure led LP that has vowed that the next LP flag runner must come through primaries and not endorsement.

Giringory has no appeal outside his J3wish bought and paid media influencer group.

This report by dailytrust is them just being sly. Peter Obi himself never made those statement. Read the full article and you'd see that he was represented by Yunusa Tanko, the National coordinator of the Obedient movement, who made the chat on Obi's behalf.

I repeat, Obi by himself has never made any statement about zoning presidency to the south or southeast.

He doesn't care about that.

He believes that he's the most competent among the current crop of presidential aspirants, and he has his plan of convincing delegates and Nigerians to vote for him.
