See as Emyimba broke, boasting about paying a whole Brown Ideye £450 per month. Did Ideye say he needs that money?

5 star N65k per night hotels? grin grin

I blame Ideye for submitting himself to the myopic judgement of a poor man when he didn't need to.

Just like Bill Gates submitting himself to the judgement of an anti-polio Cleric in the North who can't spell his own name, or a repeated failure like David Hundeyin

They can't give u luxury bro. Those kind of hotels are just normal okay hotels.

When u are talking luxury, u are talking about Transcorp, Marrriot, Eko Hotels, Raddison and the likes which are obviously not as cheap as 65k.

Enyimba just dey try hype themselves with that talk

Ibime, if you will, as an Ijaw man, I'd like to revisit Saturday's conversation with you and even get your perspective about what you know about your people's travails during the Biafran War, and the aftermath.
Nothing much happen for our side. We stayed neutral and our core village was only accessible by water however Okrika mainland where my father was was occupied by Biafra

One relative in the main village died by mortar fire despite the village raising white flag to both sides, that was it apart from a couple young men who went to fight with Biafra.

Mainland Okrika was where most of the action was. We were obviously under occupation by the Biafrans first before the Nigerians pushed them out. On approach to Okrika was when Isaac Adaka Boro was killed. My dad was with his uncle the King, often ferrying Garri back and forth in the dead of night by canoe to help avoid sapa. His uncle had maintained a neutrality, building good relationships with the Biafrans when they held he ground, then when Okrika was surrounded by Nigerian troops, he sent my dad with a message to them, telling them to leave, that all was lost and fighting would only cause civilian casualties. They then faded way without much fight. When the Nigerians entered, his opps who believe Kingship should be with their villages then reported him to Nigeria as being a traitor to Nigeria and working with the Biafrans. He simply explained that he worked with whichever army was holding the ground to protect his people. He was up for treason, but they ended up putting him in KiriKiri for a couple years (he claimed it was to save his life from his opps) before he came back to claim his throne. My grandmother missed the war as she was posted to Naija consulate in UK while my grandad was somewhere in Cameroon trying to japa hence my pops was left with his uncle.

As for stolen properties, I don't know anyone involved in that on our side or anyone from my village side. Any seized properties would have been in Borokiri part of PH. However before the war, my fathers uncle had founded and built a school which is now Rivers State College of Arts and Science. He bought a bush land and built the school. When he sent everything to the former Eastern Region Government to name the road he developed, they named it after an Igbo man he had appointed to his school board. That is Mbonu street in present day D-Line. So these were some of the injustices the minorities faced in South-South that made them kick back at Igbo rule.

If not that Nigeria is a joke country that has allowed incompetence and terrorism flourish should Nigeria even be in GMO conversations?

States like Benue, Taraba, Niger, Jos alone can feed the entire country and export out to others

This is the crux of the whole saga

It is wholeheartedly disappointing for Africa (Nigeria my country) to depend on external for her seed supply.

We are next to doom even when there are readily replantable seeds, let alone on the mercy of foreign non-rpelantable seeds/crops
91% of global GM crop cultivation (by planting area) occur in only five countries.
US, Brazil, Argentina, India, and Canada.

I always judge countries by how much land you see divided into agricultural plots when coming into land by plane

This is always what you should see when flying into a country, then you know the country is serious

It's only black countries where I will be seeing elephant grass and unkempt bushes everywhere when coming in to land.

Because Western companies have never cut corners in third-world countries.

They should skip Africa.

Africa has the second largest agricultural land area on the planet.
We don't need GM.

You are now jumping from pillar to post grasping at anything to stay relevant in the discussion. Employing cheap petty blackmail that has been destroyed already. You came late to the party.
Stay relevant? Is it for medal or for monetary benefit? grin

Spy360:
.

First of all it does not make sense. Secondly who negotiated the N10 allowance? Thirdly, being a non reviewed structured allowance it was applicable to every state including Lagos.
Exactly, it didn't make sense when I saw it here until I later saw an Obidient defending the #10 hazard allowance, then I shook head for devilish Obidient like you and that guy that posted that #10 then, is now 10k.

Meanwhile, I saw somewhere that Obaino later reviewed it and put it at 20k or 30k from your Obi's devilish #10. So I am not sure it was applicable everywhere as you wickedly claimed.

Spy360:
.

Don't deviate from the matter at hand. Tell us why you don't want a good life for Edo people.

Or is the true reason that APC are trying to hide Peter Obi from the masses?
Bro, I want a better life for all Nigerians, but trust me any votes seeker telling lies up and down about not having more than one watch and shoe to look modest and decent, should never be entrusted with public funds.

I had my draw back when I learnt that the seeds ain’t replantable…we are going to be at the mercy of externals (another importation palaca).

In the 1990s we never saw potatoes, cabbage or carrots in Nigeria as part of our food mix. These are things you'd have to pay a premium for then. Now they are everywhere and cheap, which means we have been on that pathway since

But somehow, there are Nigerians who actually believe GMO in our food chain is novel. Do people actually know how much GMO corn syrup is used in the production of almost everything they are consuming? Even the European countries they use as examples of nations that banned GMOs continue to depend heavily on the importation of GMO food/ cash crops.

The idea that science, in this instance, GMOs is limited to the Western World isn't right. Seeds/ food & cash crops can be genetically modified locally by local scientists.

There are records of Nigerian scientists that have successfully modified the genetics of numerous cash/ food crops. GMOs don't have to be imported, the science of genetically altering seeds or food crops is already home grown.

I think the misconception that it would replace organic foods rather than supplement is what is confusing a lot of people.

We should be talking about regulation of GMOs in 2025, not like it is a novel idea in food production.

use Google and if you must you can use AI then you will have all your answers.

ban on “cultivation” in some countries but you still find them importing the GMO produce (with regulations), in the so called “advanced” countries, it doesn’t mean obtuse people don’t exists and it’s only majorly in EU.

again, use google for your research because i don’t even wish to convince someone why there is no danger in having GMO produce.

locally here, search on IITA (Ibadan) and see what they are offering in that aspect

I don't label most payments I make. I do transfer and send the evidence of transfer to the receiver.

I really don't think Nigeria has the database and framework to track VAT on goods and services provided by SMEs
https://techcabal.com/2025/07/25/firs-launches-portal-for-vat/

Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has developed a real-time portal to track all VAT-eligible electronic transactions and is mandating integration from banks, card schemes, fintechs, and payment service providers, according to an internal presentation seen by TechCabal, part of an aggressive push to plug tax leakages in the fast-growing digital economy.

“This system represents a transformative leap in transaction visibility. By monitoring VAT-eligible activities in real time, we are fostering a fair and transparent digital marketplace for all stakeholders,” Zacch Adedeji, the executive chairman of FIRS, said in a statement.

Called the ‘Transaction Monitoring System,’ the portal requires financial institutions to route transactions through it, giving FIRS real-time visibility into VAT-eligible payments and where deductions may apply.

The move marks a major shift in how the tax agency enforces compliance in the financial services industry. Integrating with the portal will enable FIRS to automatically assess taxpayer thresholds and reconcile invoices. While the agency will not collect taxes directly through the portal, it will use it to monitor transactions in real time through a centralised dashboard.

“Nigeria’s digital economy has experienced exponential growth, transforming how businesses operate and process transactions,” FIRS said in the statement. “However, this expansion has outpaced traditional tax monitoring methods, creating gaps in transaction visibility and compliance.”

The agency built the “platform (to) focus on real-time data collection, monitoring and ensuring complete transparency in the digital world,” the statement added. FIRS also claims that it is using “encryption and AI-driven validation to maintain transaction integrity.
