If you are taking the test this month or in the 3 months, this still applies to you.

Register at the previous rate of ₦266,000 on IELTS.NG.

This is only available till July 31st, 2025.

Dis 266k is two months salary of most nurses, how nurses go take japa now o, wahala

I still cringe at the fact that a person who was taught in English and wrote exams in English language from nursery to university BSC/masters degree level must "prove" that he can read and write in the same English language which also happens to be the Lingua Franca of Nigeria and the official language in every state.

Apart from the business model I don't see how this makes sense in 2025.

Then to make it worse, they put an expiry date to it. So if I pass writing and reading today will I suddenly forget how to read and write English in two/three years? Its rip off and these are the questions that our ministry of foreign affairs should be asking.

Perhaps we should also make foreigners that are applying for our visa to read and write in Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo etc before we give them visa??

Just to take exam on English language that is Nigeria's official language, we are expected to pay this much. This is a scam.

I don't know why IELTS is mandatory for Nigerians despite being an English speaking nation.
If you are to take this examination, prepare assiduously or you end up spending a lot just to ace the exam.

something I wrote when it was 89k and I got an 8.5 overall. It still expired while waiting to use it for immigration.

If they are increasing the price, thy can as well increase the years of validity.

I wrote this ielts in 2020 with 75k, now it's almost X 5 na wa o. Sure thing is the people that need it will find the means of having it.

Imagine, writing 300k exam just to apply to enter another man country. And u are not even sure about d outcome.

This is shameful and disgusting. Our government at all levels should wake up.

Lol, It's not just the "rich" that is wrong in the sentence. If you want to pass IELTS or any other English language proficiency test in the future, you should start learning basic rules of English language now.

I will never take that exam.

It is insulting to my intelligence that after writing, speaking and reading in English, from Primary school to Doctoral level, I still have to 'PAY to PROVE' that I am proficient in a language that I have known and spoken all my life, for more than 30 years.

It makes no sense.

If my refusal to take that exam will cost me a One-billion-dollar opportunity, I am okay with it.

The exam is a colonial scheme for swindling former colonies.

I ve spent this 266k thrice, writing kept giving me 6.5.
Am thinking of writing another, next month.

94k just two years ago. My God. I'm surely taking it before the end of next year being 2026 because the price will surely rocket again after 2027 election.

What beats me about this exam is how the results validity is only for 2years.
Oyinbo says your english speaking skill can diminish after 2 years, hooowww? It's just like waec now says your certificate is invalid after 2 years because you would have forgotten all you wrote in the exam.
Omo we are leaners in 419 where those oyibos are concerned.
