Hello, all

I had my interview yesterday, this is the document checklist they currently operate with. You must arrange your documents in this order from the gate

No need to take photocopies of no. 1, 2 & 3. The man at the gate (not Paulinus) said they no longer ask for that
From no. 9 is where he started asking for photocopy + original

Also attached is an important notice for those who have their interviews soon
Thank you so much for this update, hope your interview went well, if you dont mind can you tell us some of the questions they asked you. it will also help others to prepare. Thanks and God bless

Please I have asked this question before no response .
Please would really appreciate an urgent answer please. I have applied for My Annerkenung which is almost half done all the documents submitted . I applied for my work visa/ Arbeitsaufnahme here in Nigeria German embassy Lagos but unfortunately I was to come for interview on June 2025 but my Annerkenung is yet to be out so I sent a mail which they re scheduled for me. My question now is
1: I would like to travel together with my 11years old daughter ( Minor) as I am applying for work visa and I have gotten an employment stating I will be working for 120hours a month and salary more than 2000€ now I would like to ask if is possible to travel along with my daughter 11years old
2: what type of visa are my to fille since she is traveling with me together
3: Can they do the Interview for both of us same day since I have an interview by November 2025 as rescheduled by them. Just curious if is possible for me to go with my Minor child 11years since is work visa. And the type of Visa form am to filled.

Thanks would be expecting.

1) yes, it's possible to
2) maybe a family reunion visa. You can email the embassy or call th m to confirm.

3) yes, you apply for her interview first, then message the embassy to merge your date with hers.

I wasn’t baptised and I indicated on my form

If you do not submit anything on the list I posted and it is important to your application, you will be notified that your documents are incomplete and given a deadline to send them

It is unlikely that your application will be submitted until you do

Read the website and the list very well

It went well, thanks

The questions were based on my personal info, mostly.
Last time I saw my husband, if we’ve ever lived together, how old he is, what is his birthday, how/when we met, how long we dated, who initiated, when we got married, who was there, and same questions asked in similar ways to basically get to know me/establish a timeline/confirm the info on the forms

Not much different from the list of questions that was posted, really. The next question just depends on how you engage

I was asked to have a conversation in German, she asked what I did that day. She laughed at me but I scored high on my A1 exams so whatever lol

I'm sure you meant October 2024 because we are not yet on October 2025.

Well, I think you will still need to wait a little longer. If you meant October 2024, it not even up to a year of waiting yet. And from what I have gathered , waiting period can take up to two years.

My people, there is a work appointment waiting list of over a year. Is it advisable to apply through the Ghana embassy if their process could be faster for a Nigerian?
Person no just waste this employment contract documents na.
The date given to start work is fast approaching
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Msquare220: 10:32pm On Aug 04, 2025
I think you first need to establish a legal residence in Ghana. Then inform the HR to change your on the contract to reflect Ghanaian address (based on personal experience, not in Ghana though).

Most importantly, check if there are earlier appointment dates in Ghana sha

My interview and that of my kids was on the 7th of August. Here are some personal questions I was asked

What is the name of your husband?
What’s the age difference between you two?
Where is he from?
When was your court wedding? (I answered, we didn’t have a court wedding because, my church is duly registered and lieciensed to issue out Marriage Certificate. And the Certificate was issued to us during the wedding ceremony)
When was your wedding ceremony?
Do you have pictures here? (I said yes! She asked me to show them to her)
You stated that you where also traditionally married, I can’t see pictures here ( I told her that, we had our traditional wedding ceremony. But, we tried to keep it really simple, we tried to cut cost and save towards our big day)
Who were the witnesses during your wedding ( I made sure I mentioned the names captured on my marriage certificate then others)
How old is your spouse?
How long have you known your spouse?
Tell me about you and your spouse before marriage ( As I spoke, I noticed that, she was jotting down some stuff)
What places did you visit together while dating?
Did you and your spouse live together before marriage?
Where did he propose to you? Did you say yes immediately? 😀
Where does your spouse reside? The interviewer went ahead to ask of his full address.
What’s your spouse’s favorite food?
What is his favorite drink?
What designer brand does he wear?
What is his favorite color?
How did your spouse get to Germany?
How often do you speak with your spouse?
What is your spouse phone number?
What means do you both communicate? ( I said, WhatsApp call, phone call, video call, chat, FaceTime)
What language do you speak? ( I replied our dialect, English & sometimes Deutsch)
Alright, spell your name in Deutsch.
What was the first city your spouse lived in when he arrived Germany?
Introduce yourself in Deutsch.
What did he study in school? ( I mentioned )
Asked a follow up question about his course
What cities around Germany has he travel to?
Does your spouse own a car?
Where does he work?
What is the position of your spouse at his place of work?
What role does he play at his place of employment?
Briefly explain what his job role entails?
How long is your spouse’s contract?
How much does he earn monthly? State the net and gross
How much does he send to you? How does he send you money? Does he send monthly or weekly?
Does he do other jobs or run a business?
How is he able to send you this much from what you said he earns?( I replied, because he knows how manage his resources)
To the kids : How old are you? When last did you see your dad?
How often does your spouse visit?
When was the last time he visited?
You said your spouse drives BMW, what color?( This is confirm of if I remember saying he doesn’t own a car 😄 I said he doesn’t own a car)
She rephrased a number of questions just to cross check that the answers that you gave before are correct 🤣
Do you have relatives in Germany? What are their names? Where do they live? Where do they work?
Why did your spouse choose to come to Germany? Was it because of his family?
When was the last time you saw your spouse? ( I said at the airport. She asked what ceremony? I said, when we saw him off.

This was the order my questions we were asked 😀. I started the interview session standing, after a while, the VO rang the security to get me a chair to sit down.

Meanwhile, don’t go to the interview with any handbag if possible. As you will not be allowed to take it inside. And no safe space to keep it. I was lucky enough to be helped by one military man.
Secondly, print out your interview IV. That is the first thing you will need to show at the entrance. I didn’t also meet the legendary Paulinus. He was conspicuously missing.

Good luck guys!

Good day everyone,

Am new to this group as I was previously in the student visa group. My visa was recently approved and I'll be traveling to Germany by September ending. I have a wife and a 4 year old son whom I would like to join me as soon as possible.
Can anyone please outline the process for me carefully?
What my wife and son need to do?
The necessary documents that will be needed?

I will appreciate all the help I can get.

Thank you.

Can anyone please explain to me who needs to provide this document "Affidavit from a parent or head of the family regarding applicant's marital status (Declaration of Spinsterhood/Bachelorhood)" and why ?

And who does not need this document ? Does a mother and her 1.4 years old child need to also submit this document ?

Goodluck with the final visa call and thank you for sharing. Please I have just one question. At what point did you ask them to put your kids' applications with yours together and did you receive separate invitation for Interview ? I currently have this issue and hoping that they consider the interview together with the kid at the same date and process it together. What is your thought on this and the best approach. Thank you smiley
