I guess I didn't mention this before, your first degree is very key, and yes, you will be able to get jobs here in Nigeria.

Learning online is also more about improving your existing skills or learning a new skill to get you an edge in that field or at least be a decent candidate.

Thanks a lot bro!!

Can you kindly share the nature of job you secured in Germany?

Great news and we wish you good luck.

I have a number of questions I'd like to ask regarding the application process.

1. Did the Verification Officer visit the entire family members you listed on the forms?
2. Did you do any document verification?
3. Since your spouse has a blue card you are not required to show proof of language, was this asked for?

Thanks.

@Sam8850 The verification officer visited my parents and a witness from my spouse. He visited all the institution that issued any form of documentation including all the hospitals where I and my children were born. For me my life was basically across two states in Nigeria and in the UK. I am guessing they also verified the UK bit.

I didn't do any document verification. But then again my husband had done most of that prior to starting a job.

Sorry again I had to ask him again. He doesn't have a blue card as he was employed directly by the government. He works in a research institution. However, I still didn't need to present language certification as i had degrees outside Nigeria

It was a looooong tedious process as the officer actually goes literally everywhere. I had to follow him around to speed up things because of terrain some locations would have been difficult to find using just the address.

Wow... I can already imagine the time and stress you went through moreso I'm also thinking of how my wife will go through that as well.

Sam8850:
Hello all and welcome to this thread. This new year, I believe a lot of people have resolutions and plans they intend to achieve this year and for the future. I am a strong believer of the saying "Knowledge (the right information) is Power" hence having the right information from peoples experience and legit sources can lead to the achievement of our goals.

Now, for those of us who are intending to migrate to Germany for work or family re-union purposes, it is very vital to get the right information on processes and guidance to successful acquiring of your visum (visa).

Here we go, first it will be very important to visit the German Consulate official website, try to know legit site as opposed to third party, clone sites or random Google site results. The official site of the German Consulate in Nigeria is https://nigeria.diplo.de, there you can find a lot of information regarding types of visas, booking appointment and requirements.

I am currently processing my Work Visa (entry visa for Blue Card) at the Consulate, I had my interview on 19th November 2018 and I await the approval of my visa. Also, at the same time I'm looking to begin process of a family re-union visa for my wife and 1year old son, interviews have been booked for both in March 2019.

I believe there are Nigerians out there in Germany who have gone through this process in the past few years that can share their experience with us, which is always helpful. I have questions and well as I can answer questions of my journey to this stage, I have also been able to share and answer questions on other threads that can help.

So lets begin this journey by helping each other one question and answer at a time for the right information is power that will help us achieve our goals.

Thank you.

It's about time this thread existed,a lot will benefit from it. Had my interview for family reunion over three years ago,the only thread about Germany on nairaland existed for the students visa. .
One thing I'd like to add though,it's great if you can learn the basic deutsch (A1) before one gets to Deutschland. Goethe Institute in Lagos teaches deutsch. Most germans would not speak English except for the younger ones or in the bigger cities like Berlin. Wishing everyone success in their endeavours. Alles gute, tschüss

Problem is we don't all live in Lagos. Getting a German language school even in Abuja was like looking for a needle. I do think they should decentralise the Language bit of the institute like what the British Council does

I don't understand this your message. I have had more people here sending me pm and I have replied most of them via PM.

Is there an issue with a p2p conversation with an old time buddy . ?

Yes there is when you open a thread and decided to share contact details rather than having an open discussion. If you can't share this info here for all to learn then what is the point of this thread?
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Sam8850: 11:45am On Jan 06, 2019
I think you are missing the point and calling out fellow member(s) isn't allowed here.

I have reached out to different people on this thread/site privately as well as openly for different questions. If you do not understand the concept of privacy then why does this forum has a pm option?

You don't expect someone to come out here cause its an open forum to download their entire itenery just because its an open forum, where is the security there?

The thread is open to questions, answers and information needed to help members with work and family re-union visas. Which people have been posting there questions and members sharing answers as well.

Please if you have a question just go ahead and ask it and not call out member(s).

Thanks.

I will call you or anybody out when you keep asking for pm, there is nothing secret about securing a visa, so please discussion should be open here.

Nobody asked you to put up your private details here, you can ask questions and contribute without using your real name or other personal details.

Last on this..stop this pm business and keep discussions open here
