*Diet For Legends (DFL)* *Legends Of Faith Ministry Worldwide* Daily Devotional By Pst Shalom Enehikhare Saturday 26th July, 2025. *Topic: Don't Be A Tree Without Fruit (Part 3)* Text Mark 11:12-14 12 - Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 - And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 - In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it.(NKJV) *Note The Following:* 1. Everyone one is expected to bear fruit, and that the fruits should remain! John 15:16 - You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. (NKJV) Since you have been a Christian, what fruits do you have to show? How many souls have you won? What are you currently doing do move the Work of God forward in the department, unit and the general church? Are you part of the solution by bearing fruits, or you are even the problem or part of the problem? Jesus Christ chose you to bear fruit that will last and remain, don't be a tree without fruit! 2. Do you know that God hates it if you don't bear fruit? He will cut you off, except you bear fruit! John 15:2 - Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (NKJV) The fig tree in our text was supposed to bear fruit but didn't, so Jesus cursed it. Don't wait to get a curse, because you will be useless to God and His church. God wants to prune you so you can be fruitful. Surrender your heart and be blessed! *Special Focus:* John 15:2 - Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (NKJV) *Prayer:* Dear Father, empower me with grace for lasting fruitfulness in Your kingdom, and in life and destiny in Jesus Name! Amen. *Join us tomorrow Sunday by 7.30am for youth day celebration 2025.* Good morning #Enlarge

But I'm curious to know, aren't there trees that don't produce fruits and are nonetheless serving different valuable purposes 🤔 |

PythonPro001:that's different from a tree that is supposed to bear fruit but is looking green and in season as if it actually has a fruit in it, meanwhile it is fruitless |

Even the fruitless tree still get use and same God created it too.... |

The verse made emphasis on the type of fruit qualifies a tree to be cut off and which is a bad fruit. It doesn't qualify a tree that doesn't bear fruit in the same essence. Analogies have very high tendency of being wrong than being right. Change it to don't be a tree without GOOD FRUITS. |

Osashalom:the fruits are not souls o Matt.7.20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. (NIV) You don't know nor recognize people by the "number of souls they have won" Prov.11.30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. "Winning souls" is by the wisdom of God, bearing fruit of righteous is living a good life pleasing to God Eph.5.9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), Phil.1.11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation--those good things that are produced in your life by Jesus Christ--for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Jesus said in Luke.3.8-9 Bear fruits that are deserving and consistent with [your] repentance [that is, conduct worthy of a heart changed, a heart abhorring sin]. And do not begin to say to yourselves, We have Abraham as our father; for I tell you that God is able from these stones to raise up descendants for Abraham. Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. The rest of the verses in this Luke 3 contains what we should do to bear such fruit, in answer to the question the crowd asked, what should we do. So the fruit which shows the kind of people we are, is Gal.5.22 - 24 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. |

PythonPro001:Appeal to the sense in Scriptures and not the Letters. It is true some Trees don't bear Fruits at all. Very True. What Jesus Christ was saying here is the importance of bearing GOOD FRUITS. What does good Fruits mean? Faith, Righteousness, Service. Everything Good and Wholesome.. And anything and anyone that failed to do that is destined for Doom. |

Lukuluku69:If a tree doesn't bear "good fruits", do you think we should blame the tree for that ? Keep in mind that a tree's capacity to bear fruits depends on other factors like fertility of the soil especially. |

PythonPro001:Again, appeal to the sense and not the Letter. The " Tree" here is the Human Soul and the "Fruits" here is the Works of his hands and the thoughts of his Soul. It is a Allegorical reference by Jesus Christ. Remember he was Preaching to humans and not Trees! So many of his Parables used inanimate things. Stones, Birds, Vines, Bread etc. |

Lukuluku69:Of course I know the story is a parable. I'm just questioning how logically applicable the parable is to the message Jesus was trying to pass across. |

PythonPro001:Exactly. I get your point. That's why you have to know the the sense behind the Letters. |

PythonPro001:The focus n context is on fruits producing trees |
