You may not like him. You may not trust him. But I honestly think President Bola Tinubu is quietly moving us towards true federalism without shouting about it.

Before you accuse me of collecting corn, check out the facts below. Facts trump political gbasgbos all the time: 🧵

Forget the speeches. Forget the politics for a minute and the many issues we must still drag him for and pay attention . While others talk “restructuring,” Tinubu is federalizing Nigeria—lowkey, bit by bit. You just didn’t notice.

🔌 1. Electricity to the States
Thanks to the 2023 Electricity Act, Lagos and others can now generate, transmit, and distribute power—without Abuja drama.

🏗️ 2. Zonal Development Commissions
He established and FUNDED 6 regional commissions (SW, SE, SS, NW, NE, NC) with serious budgets. Not talk. Action.

💰 3. Let States Eat Where They Work
VAT restructuring is underway. States will keep more of what they generate. Hustle = Chop.

✈️ 4. Decentralized Aviation College

NCAT isn’t stuck in one corner anymore. Campuses are going regional. Flight training for all zones.

🏛️ 5. Supreme Court Backs LG Autonomy—Jagaban Didn’t Block It. It actually pushes the judgement

No interference. No delay. Tinubu let local govts breathe for once but now it’s the governors whining 🤷🏿‍♂️

👮‍♂️ 6. He’s Not Fighting State Policing Talks

Unlike others, Tinubu is letting constitutional talks on devolution flourish. Quiet encouragement. He watched SW Governors take the issue further with anthem that resembles Amotekun and regional flag but pretended he didn’t see 😎

🩺 7. Healthcare, Localized
Primary healthcare funds now go to states directly. Abuja is stepping back, not micromanaging.

What state do with it is another matter but Jagaban is asking them or take power on primary health care in their zones🤷🏿‍♂️

💳 8. Credit Access Through the States

The National Consumer Credit push allows states to drive their own economic empowerment.

Few past presidents have gone that far. Instead they kept the hands of federal funds only on the allocations

🪙 9. More Money, Less Federal Interference

Tinubu raised state allocations by more than 100% —and gave governors space to perform (or flop). Governors of course are collecting the money, chopping it and cleaning their mouths!

But of course, we don’t know if Jagaban is serious about this or just winding us in 4D Chess while we are playing checkers.

Afterall, he is still the King of Lagos godfatherism 🤐

If indeed he believed in state autonomy why is the control of lagos still sitting on his lap in Abuja? 🤷🏿‍♂️

Until oil producing states start controlling their recourses fully and pay tax to the centre, every other restructuring discussion is total nonsense..

Every region should control their recourses not only Vat, ND should control their recourses fully and pay tax to the centre
If you can't control and manage the allocations given to you by the Federal Government it simply shows that you will be able to manage and control the resources in your region very well because it is your resource while the other which is an allocation you don't have to manage it well.

In America, if you find oil on your land, and the deed of sale gives you mineral rights of the land, the oil belongs to you

Of course, if you find oil on your land, you are not likely to have the technical know how and heavy equipment needed to drill the oil, but you can sell or lease your mineral right to an oil company that is specialised in oil extraction

what has the oil producing states been doing with the money given to them? They have NDDC that Akpabio and his people are stealing from, Ibori stole all the state wealth and a Nigeria court set him free. Niger Delta governors should be ashamed of themselves for not developing their states.

same United States that the Europeans stole the land belonging to the indigenous Indians?

Yankee has some rights for freehold land owners, but the ownership patterns vary significantly across different regions and resource types.

Please name 3 other countries that have resource control?

Like . . . It's baffling, I don't understand 🤔

I myself, I'm a staunch supporter of Peter Obi . . . Fully obidient to the core YET these AGBADOIDS seem to know people who they claim are 'popular' in my circle and yet I do not even know such people undecided

This thing is beginning to seem like witchcraft at this point. I myself don't even give a hoot about any APC e-thug wether popular or not sad

Truly I commend Tinubu in some of the policies, I also believe he is restructuring Nigeria gradually and will do it with full force once he gets reelected in 2027, which I believe he won't win because of his other numerous sins like:

1.) Introducing dangerous t ribalism to Nigerian politics and existence, which is turning Lagos to something else and may turn it to a regional city and no longer the center of excellence and commerce center it is today if he and his minions don't backtrack

2.) His corrupt past and present which most times renders some of his good policies and initiatives useless because he implements them with corruption and looting in mind.

3.) Impoverishing Nigerians, especially the youths.

Take away the three points above, I don't really have an issue with Tinubu being the President honestly

How can Tinubu be blamed for what a local government councilor did in Lagos. If anything, Obi moved wildly on the wings of tribalism and religion and it's going to cost the SE a lot. He did same thing as governor. Unlike Tinubu who detribalized Lagos to a large extent by positioning non indigenes in power.
