Buhari, in his attempt to cage Jonathan encouraged the Parliament to enact a law barring anyone who has been sworn in on two occasions from seeking the presidency.

As Jonathan had already been sworn in on two occasions, he can no longer go for a second term.
He was sworn in, when Yaradua died.
He was also sworn in when he worn the 2011 election.

I doubt whether Tinubu will ask the parliament to change that law, as he wouldn't want to give a look-in to a potential rival that may deny him his 2027 dreams.

Even if Jonathan were to even run, that will mean that Peter Obi, Tinubu and GEJ will have to slug it out.

The Obidient family is way to numerous to be an underdog in such a race, and Peter Obi is more likely than the other two to drastically reduce corruption in Nigeria. Peter Obi will definitely have an advantage.

Moreover it was GEJ that handed over Nigeria to those who destroyed Nigeria, starting from Buhari to Tinubu.. All these will come to play.

How PDP treated Jonathan after the election loss does not speak well of them.

After Jonathan, Atiku has contested on the platform of PDP 2x. This is one of the reasons for Wike destroying the party because they did not keep to their rotation agreement, an agreement which ironically was one of the problems Jonathan faced. He was told he was using the term of the North and should not contest election again. Look at where we are today.

Only the President or Senate can make the VP or the SP the Acting President. Jonathan was given the AP in February 2010 and in May 2010 when Yar Adua was confirmed dead, he was sworn in as President and he nominated Namadi Sambo as his VP. Prior to this time, he had no VP and he could never have as Acting President because that would have meant he was taking his Oga's position or acting a coup as he was the VP acting as the President till Yar Adua came back. Under Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo was Acting President 2x after the President (Buhari) sent a letter to the senate and he was called Acting President.

He only completed the tenure of Yara'dua, same thing happened when the late Aketi died in Ondo. Gov Lucky still has one term to go after his current tenure.

If Jonathan is elected president of Nigeria a second time, his administration will be worse than Buhari's and Tinubu's combined.
