Your big mouth didn't say anything.

We have been importing since independence, where have that taken us?

You are either a forex dealer or very ignorant, it is secondary school economics, balance of trade in international trade, if you import way more than you export, it affects your currency value negatively, it needs to be balanced or your exports higher than your imports. Mr big moouth small braain
Nigeria imports to export ratio is balanced. You kid

The problem of Nigeria is loan and more loan. Corruption. Dangote should make his fuel cheaper than import and simple as that. No one is banning fuel import.

The nairalanda1 guy and his fellow travelers have suddenly gone silent. They all said subsidy removal would spur investment in local refining capacity etc.

We are still waiting.
Yeah, like 40 years or more of mess are wiped away.

I really don't enjoy discussing with you guys. You all like to call me the o-word at the end of the day, without using the world.

SUbsidy does not work. It's a fact, and lord knows I hate saying it.

But then, people are annoouncing that they have gotten licences for refineries. It's in the news.

Good evening. I really don't like the way you guys are so abusive because someone does not share your views. If you want subsidy back, meet your senator...or do the whole Marxist revolution thing.

This would have been good but one can't trust dangote, once he achieve this monopoly now his price will skyrocket. There is need for healthy competition
Go run am with your papa. For Dangote to even pull through no be anyhow achievements. The only thing on una head na to hate a great achievement. Na everything be monopoly to una.

AMINDA:
Do you know what monopoly means? Has Dangote stopped anyone with a refinery license from building a refinery in Nigeria to compete with him? Why should he be competing with cheap impure fuel from Malta when he just invested 25 billion dollars in building a refinery in Nigeria? What now happens to buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria and the much touted "Nigeria First" policy.
You dey mind them. Yeye people

Let them Start their Own Refinery - for there is nothing Unfortunately about that but you know what- they won't because - it's very easy to Get the Banks - to Prepare Import Documents and Bring Defined Products to Nigeria!
You can call that Emergency 🦺 Oil Contractors!
These Associations Cannot Even Accounts For The Money Being Received From their Members because of Corruption!
You are very right, Naija na real jungle

That’s the plan. To monopolize the market and give the government a stake in the share

America owes over 20trillion in debts but it's currency is still the strongest and most valuable, next to pounds, because the currency is used as a benchmark, in high demand... export is one way to make your currency be in demand. You are talking from what you hear not what you know.

Nigeria import and export is balanced.

You have useless APC government that destroys Nigeria. They took loans and squandered the money. It’s now costing Nigeria dollars to service those loans.

Nigeria importers have vendors all over the world. They don’t rely on Nigeria governments or cbn for dollars. They collect funds directly from foreign remitters and credit their account in Nigeria in naira.

Most of the imports we made the money doesn’t rerun out. They sell their product and held the funds Back here and use part of it to clear remittances transactions.

I know about that because I traveled to many countries

Mr Dangote, its not yet time we will do that when we have 5 to 10 other refineries like yours existing and working
you are not serious, you people need some evaluation. So we keep spending forex importing fuel that is under our feet . for years the talk was always about we don't have refineries,we have crude, wasting on subsidy. Now we have refinery the new talk is we need to have 5 or 10 more ,I wonder the kind of education people get in this country

Dangote should welcome competition especially if it’s going to bring price down. The alternative is for him to fix a pump price that will never increase no matter what, then he can have it all to himself. He can’t make them ban importation and then put Nigerians through the grinder.

you don't rush and close a gate, is understandable by you. Imagine that importing fuel cost cheaper than local production then the main local producer is trying to monopolize the market
