You see all these phone reviews shouting "108MP camera", "8GB RAM", "big battery", etc? Make I just tell you — some of the real specs that affect daily use are the ones people no dey even check. Let me break it down small-small 👇🏽 1. Brightness (Nits) You dey outside, sun full ground, and you can't see your screen? That your phone probably has low brightness. If the phone no reach 900–950 nits, just know say you'll be guessing your way through WhatsApp chats under the sun. This one na serious matter, especially for we wey dey waka around. 2. IP Rating (Dust & Water Protection) Phones fall. Water splashes. Dust everywhere. Some phones get small protection (like IP54) — not waterproof o, but at least if small water touch am, e no go misbehave. Plenty budget phones no get this at all. One rain, boom — RIP. 3. Charging Speed + Technology Some phones go write “33W fast charging” but will still take 2 hours to charge. Look for the ones wey get intelligent charging protocols — e dey protect battery and charge sharp. Sometimes, it's not the number of watts, it's how the phone uses it. 4. 4G Band Support You fit buy phone wey no dey catch 4G well for your area — just because e no support your network’s 4G band. Make sure the phone supports bands like B28, B40, etc. Otherwise, you go dey wonder why your “4G” phone dey browse like EDGE. 5. Dual Speakers No be everybody get earpiece or Bluetooth speaker. Dual stereo speakers fit change your whole experience — clearer calls, better music/video vibes. Once you use am, you no go like mono speaker again. 6. Software Optimization No be to just shout “8GB RAM”. If the phone OS dey scatter memory, or background apps dey freeze anyhow, na stress. Phones with good software + RAM management fit run smoother than the spec suggests. Fun fact: One phone I’ve seen that ticks most of these “invisible” specs… is actually in the ₦150–200k range 👀 Nigerian brands, take notes! Some brands dey really try lowkey. 👌🏽 Moral of the story? Before you rush to buy phone because of “megapixels” and “RAM”, try check these underrated specs. E fit make the difference between regret and peace of mind. Any spec you always check before buying a phone? Let’s talk. 👇🏽 |

One more thing Refresh rate , not just "touch sampling rate" but the display refresh rate. Once you taste 120hz minimum you'll never want to go back to anything lesser |
| Re: Some Phone Specs We Ignore — But They Actually Matter by Milekedesigns(f): 4:17pm On Jul 28, 2025 |
Very correct. Most people get carried away by big specs like 108MP or 8GB RAM, forgetting real-life experience is deeper — brightness, IP rating, and even software optimization matter more. Same way people chase business hype without focusing on proper branding. A business with poor design won’t be taken seriously, no matter the ‘big grammar’ behind it. |

Said everything but left out the baba of all, Processor. If you don’t have a good processor, you’ll hate your phone. |

The first thing I always check for is processor and the size whether it is 6nm, 4nm etc anything larger than these is s no go area for me, then the screen type, followed by the RAM. I am not a camera freak so I don't care about that and I the size of battery doesn't matter too me that much as well. All I want is performance. |

I totally agree with this oo Some even go as far as lying and concocting specs their phones don't have Or use "Coming soon" to hold and deceive their poor customers |

The first thing I check when choosing my device is the processor if it can handle what I needed the device for, secondly the display whether it's Amoled or LCD, then also the ram and rim also matters and finally the camera quality too |

I think we can only check them through the settings in their demo phone right, because you can't inbox the phone before buying it to confirm those features right? IheomaAkparanta: |
