iwaeda:Your opinion means nothing. No one knows tomorrow let alone the distant future. Yorubas are not thinking "forever" currently. What is sure is that Yorubas today have noted the need to secure the future of their generations unborn from the covetous expansionism of those whose only way of engaging with others is "winner take it all" scheming. An agenda they are forever attached to because of the need to gain dominant control over the land and asset of others rather than embrace the best global standard practice of migrant partnering with those they met on ground to evolve just and progressive society for all. |

We have been kicking the can down the road but we are fast approaching a time when this issue of Nigeria how we shall coexist if we do will be settled once and for all! |

givedemwotowoto:Please, who is the next president you are talking about? Aside from Tinubu which president is as brutal as Obasanjo but with all his madness he could not declare emergency in Lagos. Lagos is a world of its own. Wake up and smell the coffee. NO PRESIDENT BORN OF A WOMAN CAN DECLARE STATE OF EMERGENCY IN LAGOS STATE (In Wike's Voice). No Be Juju Be Dat? |

mecuries:your problem is you comment on a matter that is beyond your knowledge. I will repeat for you and for anyone reading. The lagos you call federal territory is ikoyi, VI, lagos island and yaba. The rest of what is now lagos state were annexed territories from ijebu, Egba, yewa and Egun people and are larger by land mass and population than the cindigines of the original lagos federal territory. the inhabitants of these tribes intermarried so it should not be surprising to the knowledgeable that a man whose father comes from Ogun Osun, Oyo etc can also be a lagosian. If my father comes from ijebu Ode and my mother comes from Epe, they are both Ijebu. These places which today make up 93% of Lagos state were under the western region and were not and never called or part of the federal capital. For example Epe, Lekki and Ikorodu are ijebu people! Recently the oba of Epe lost a large expanse of land in Epe to the late Awujale despite the land being in Lagos state because that land was ancestral Ijebu land tied to the palace in ijebu. If as part of the creation of Lagos state you remove some ijebu people from Western region and add them to the new state called lagos state, they dont stop being Ijebu people by ancestry. By the same token it shouldnt surprise you that some people even though they today be classified as coming from ogun state are also ancestrally linked to lagos state as a result of the annexation of their ancestral lands to create lagos state. for example on the mothers side. this is the reason someone like Yayi can be a senator in lagos state and ogun state. either way a state is an artificial concept, tomorrow lagos or Imo or Kaduna states may not exist but the ancestry, origins and cultural identity of the inhabitants doesnt change. An Ife man is an Ife man whether ife was under Southern protectorate, western region, western state, Oyo state or Osun state. He remains an indigine of Ife and remains in his ancestral land. Lagos State is made of up the original indigines of what was the federal territory of lagos plus the other yoruba subnationals, ijebus, egba, yewas, eguns, ijeshas etc that were carved out of the western region and amalgamated to make the new Lagos STATE! i dont understand ibo culture, you wont find me commenting on their culture. Apart from being a sign of someone well raised, if you dont know the history or nuances of other peoples cultures or inter relationships, its best to either ask or keep your mouth shut! |

tunjijones:This is a waste of time and energy, even if you like change the name every months, Lagos will still remain no man’s land, live and let’s live |

Wahabfuture:Bros calm down. Nobody is arguing with you that Lagos is not no man's land. Let "no man" go and change the names of the streets to the old Igbos names since it's no man's land. And bros you didn't answer my question, did Anambra do the same to ebonyi or not? Pls be sincere cos I just read it on internet, I don't know how true it is. |

casualobserver:Gbam. When Yayi showed up interest in contesting for senate in ogun. My oba in Ifako Ijaiye travelled to Yewa and met his other yewa obas in Ogun state to support him. Even at every Awori function in the island, you will always find the kabiyesi Olofin isheri from Ogun state travel down to Lagos Island for those traditional events. |

Slytiger:Ohhh really ??Why are Igbos now crying up and down all over social media as if this is the first time this is happening. But Igbos no dey try o. Are ebonyi people not Igbos? It's just like Lagos state changing street names of ondo state people. That is even worse than what Lagos is doing to the Igbos now sef. |
