Calm down, the north are smarter when it comes to politics. They are not emotional.

They know it is only fair for the south to occupy aso villa for a period of 8 years. They can't afford the risk of supporting another southern for another 4 years because humans cannot be trusted with power.
They also know that it would be disastrous if they refuse to let the south enjoy a second tenure.
All the noise from the northern elders forum, arewa consultative forum etc is just to get the best deals from balablu.

When was the last time the people you listed won an election? Atiku lost in the NW, won only his zone (50.5%) and barely managed to get 25% in the NC. ElRufai could not deliver his state almost lost the governorship race for his successor and Malami lost the gubernatorial election despite riding on Buhari’s popularity and his newly acquired wealth.


Also I might be wrong on this but if I recall the NEF did not support Buhari to became president. He became president on the back of his 12 m supporters built over time. He was never an Northern establishment figure so they didn’t support him all the times he had previously tried and he got his 12m votes each time..

North Atiku- doesn't even have 1 governor he helped win elections
Elrufai- lost his state presidential election, his governor won by 15k votes. They don't even see eye to eye anymore.

They don’t understand that if by happenstance Tinubu loses the election it won’t be to Obi. And if by some miracle he wins as a VP to Atiku, he will not become president in 2031 except Atiku dies in office considering his age. Which is all the more why when the time comes and the North analyse the matter, Atiku/Obi will not fly.

The north knows the south must serve for a period of 2 terms. They only have 2 options: either to continue with balablu and his disastrous Muslim - Muslim ticket or they support another southern candidate for another 4 years which is a gamble as another candidate may want to spend 2 terms.

There is an unwritten agreement between the north and the south that power must rotate between the north and the south.

The truth is, other than those who may vote him for tribal loyalty there are *very few* throughout Nigeria who will wish to see him back.

We simply can't lie about the fact that he has represented hardship, starvation and death to the majority.

You can sing and dance about long term plans but the ordinary voter does not go to the polls with that in mind. Most don't even believe his long terms plans because the ongoing corruption is obvious to everyone.

Nigeria, unfortunately is a deeply tribalistic society. And whilst his SW bloc will not entirely support him, you will find that most of his support will still come from there (same with other candidates by the way).
