At iju. There was no light at all throughout yesterday. But sometimes in the midnight. They brought the light for an hour I think. And they took it. But around 7am this morning the light came back.

At least. I like the way this was communicated with sense of responsibility and concern. If we had been this responsible in the past, our country wouldn't have collapsed to this level.
May be the President is working afterall. The level of responsibility should be maintained in all sectors.
NB: Our Police are a nuisance and a problem to the country's economy. They impede movements at will and disrupt a lot of activities with their lawless road blocks. The Police should be looked into.
Lastly, kudos to the NISO, Discos and the rest. Keep it up, we hope to see the results by the end of August.
May God continue to bless Nigeria.

The power disruption announcements by the 2 discos have been debunked by the TCN, the transmission upgrade will not affect supply.

Nothing new. Not as if it's going to be different from the usual power cuts. We are used to it

Na them sabi na. they should buy generator or solar, or wait till the work is over. Pls, how do I treat this stubborn dandruff on my head?
No need for solar or even Gen for non-commercial users of power. Most should be able to wait-out the period as you said because the outage period and time is know in advance. I.e roughly lasting one month between 8.00am to 5.00pm daily.

People in the affected areas have been given notice professionally and should plan themselves properly especially as it seems they will be the winners afterwards with more efficient and stable power supply.

The Omotosho–Ikeja West 330 kV line carries bulk power from the Omotosho Power Station in Ondo State to the main transmission hub in Ikeja, Lagos. Upgrading this vital corridor with fibre‑optic grounding wire will improve grid stability, reduce future faults and enhance data communications for the power network.

Lagos will face scheduled power outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekday from July 28 to August 21, 2025, due to maintenance work on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330 kV transmission line. Affected areas include Ojodu, Ikeja, Oshodi, Alimosho, and more. Consider using generators, solar inverters, or adjusting activities to cope with the outages.

Have you asked yourself how businesses would survive?

What kind of government switches off power from 8am to 5pm on a weekday and feels it's OK. Belive me so many average and small businesses would shut down before the 21st of August.
