Fashola is a great States man and a true omuolabi. As Governor he was never involved in ethnic bait or slants.. His major task was to collaborate with all progressives to build Lagos and we all saw the good works he did that has become the bench mark of leadership . After Jakande ..he's the next best thing that happened to Lagos state. |

For history to be preserved, it means you have to honor people who worked hard to actualize that street. An Igbo man renovated a treat, brought street lights into it, sand fill it and fixed bad spots on the street. He earned the title and named after the street. Now, someone from no where wants to change it because of tribalism Now Fashola is saying, don't changed the history. Let people know how it came into existence |

Lagos and indeed the entire Southwest won’t realise the damage Tinubu has done to how the rest of the country sees them till the next 3 years. |

treesun: when the people that matter in Lagos sociopolitical structure and power talk, some inconsequential minority with no ancestral ties or knowledge about the history of Lagos think they have a say in the administration of our state.Going forward every governorship aspirants must embrace the new wave of conservatism browning across Lagos as our heritage and identity needs to be protected and we will only be voting leaders in Lagos who are ready to preserve the Yoruba history and heritage..eko oni baje oo…btw proudly Lagos |

No matter the level of pretense, blackmail and sabotage, the history of Lagos can never be complete without the Igbos. Those who for selfish political reasons try to rewrite the history are only trying in vain. |
| Re: Street Naming: Lagos History Must Be Preserved, Says Fashola by hotseat: 10:34am On Jul 30, 2025 |
While preserving the history of Lagos State is a necessity, caution must be taken so as not to be viewed as an attack against "perceived enemies". Any decerning observer knows that this sudden renaming of streets and roads appears to be a fallout of the false claim that Lagos is a no man's land nauseatingly brought to the fore during the last presidential election in the State. The fact that Lagos State belongs to the Yorubas of the State notwithstanding, other Nigerians have and continue to make their various contributions towards its present economic, social and political status. We can't afford to profess "One Nigeria" only in theory but not in practice! Live and let others live! The more the merrier! @hotseat |
